Seatbelt light malfunction?

Has anyone else had a problem with the Driver "no seatbelt" light coming on randomly while driving? I've noticed in the last couple of days I can replicate it coming on when letting off the gas quickly when driving over 50 kmph or braking to a stop. I'm taking it in later this week to get check but it's really weird. And yes I've checked repeatedly that my belt has cleanly and securely clicked in correctly.

I also experience this in my 08 sedan.. it has happened maybe handful of times in 2 years of ownership. How do you replicate the malfunction? If you know a way, let me know as well, so that I can take my car in to have it fixed.

The "No seatbelt" warning light is the same indicator for both the driver and passenger i believe. If you have something in your passenger seat, like a backpack or something that has some weight to it, it might trigger the weight sensor to "think" that there is a person in your passenger seat causing the "no seatbelt" warning light to trigger.

I was thinking about that the other day and can't recall if I had anything on the seat or not. Haven't been able to replicate it. *sigh*

So I download obd fusion app with the extra Infiniti stuff and was able to get the code b2454. Anyone know if there's a fuse under the hood?

According to the FSM, fusibile link "G" (30amp), feeds only the pre-crash seat belt control unit. This link is in the black box located in front of the battery.

Thanks man. Is this the fuse link? Do I replace the entire thing? I assume PSB means PRE-CRASH SEAT BELT?

In your pic it is the red "box" From what I understand the whole link has to be replaced. Double check to make sure the link is bad by checking Pin #2 at the PSB Control Unit for voltage.

So the fusible link in good. What is the pre crash seat belt motor? Is this the seatbelt receptacle? How would I test it?

The FSM only says that for code B2454 you should check that the control module has power by checking the wire harness;

Nearest I can guess, somewhere behind the glove box (near the ECU perhaps) is the PSB control unit. Locate and disconnect the harness connector and verify you have good, constant voltage at harness terminal #2 (thicker gauge wire). The code refers refers to a open line or short in this circuit.

From there, if everything checks out, unfortunately the FSM says to replace the control unit.
