Passenger Seat

Hi guys

Its been a pain dealing with this air bag light coming on when my wife sits there. I have to sit there to have the light turn off then she sits there. Sometimes that doesn't even work.
Took it to infiniti and they said "we reset the system" next day it came back on.... soooo frustrating!!

Fixing to go back there and ask for new seat? or sensor??

Help please

Your wife is probably like mine, not heavy enough to set off the pressure sensor. I believe you have to be over 120 lbs for the car to think it's safe enough for the airbags to deploy. This isn't just an Infiniti problem, my Tundra did the same thing. You don't always want the airbag to go off, some shorter and smaller people it can actually injure them more than the accident due to where it hits them.

My wife and I have an ongoing joke when it comes to that airbag light. When she sits there, sometime it's lit--sometimes it's not. I just tell her to eat a bit more before hitting the road.

Thank you for the information. I have been wondering about this for some time.
My wife weighs less than 120 lbs. and the airbag light rarely goes off when she sits in the passenger seat. You saved me a trip to the dealer.

Ditto. GF is usually between 108-112lbs and in my car ('09 sedan) or in her car ('12 sedan) she has issues with the passenger airbag sensor. Sometimes it says it's on, but most of the time is says it's off.

Never knew the exact weight requirements for this to go off, it always lights when my wife is there or a big bag. I now refer to it as the toddler light.
Problem is when the light does turn off she takes offense now.

Well maybe your other cars weren't as technologically advanced as your G!

You should take the time to read the owners manual. It's loaded with tons of info regarding your car including why the "front passenger air bag status light" is on or off.
