Caller ID Issue

I have a G with Premium, but not nav and I was wondering if it was possible to get a contact name to show up on the screen. I have numbers programed in the car's address book, but it's only voice no text. The number shows up when I'm getting a call but no name, so I never know who it is (since have absolutely no numbers memorized). It's not really a huge deal, but I can't find anything on this. Thanks for any help!

If you don't program in the name, how would the car know who is calling?

It wouldn't, that's why I'm wondering if there's a way to manually type in a name to match the voice tag of a contact.

Did you program the numbers into your nav yourself? Or did you import them via bluetooth?

I can't import from my iPhone, so I typed them in. If you did the same, i don't see why you didn't type in the name as well. My callers' ID's show up just fine.

AFAIK, I don't think you can edit a person's name in the nav. You might just have to delete and re-enter them...check the manual, it should be in there.

I have an iPhone as well, so I couldn't import, but when I put in a new number it was all through the voice prompt. As far as I know there's no way to manually type in someone's name rather than just say it. I guess I can just look at my phone and then answer in bluetooth.
