iPhone & AUX port -

So I downloaded a few YouTube videos and I wanted to play it through the AUX port in the G37s. Now, I know the car must be parked with the parking brake on before I attempt this but here's the issue.

So I turn the car on to ACC and press down the parking brake pedal. I plug in the iPhone into the G using the cable provided via the center console. I select AUX and my LCD screen goes black with the time displaying the top right corner. My iPhone (3G), on the other hand, goes to the screen of iPod Accessory and I can't get to the video in order to play it.

The car obviously recognizes there's a video because I don't get the message that the "video will resume once car is parked" anymore but rather the screen stays black. So I'm guessing it's an iPhone issue? Anyone else experience this?

Help, suggestions and comments appreciated!

I personally picked up the Apple Composite AV Cable for about $50 bucks at best buy. It works like a charm.

Are you connecting the iPhone to the red, white, yellow auxillary or the ipod connector?

Yeah, you need to get a special video cable with the Red Yellow White connectors. Also, you dont need to shell out $50 for a cable from the apple store or best buy; I bought mine from Deal Extreme for $7.00. It came in yesterday and I watched videos in my car during my lunch break! What you need to make sure of is that the cable has the proprietary Apple Chip in it for it to work on the iPhone 3G.

Just incase people are wondering, here's a link to a cable that you can buy for the 3G iphone.

I'm not sure... but, I think you'll need the cable that has the white / yellow / red RCA's to iPhone out and use the RCA's in the center console. The phone may have to be set to "video out" also? I missed that setting on my iPod at first...

I just looked at the site, does this mean it will not work with the iphone 3Gs? It doesn't say that it won't work for this phone...
