Problem with iPod Adaptor
Does anyone else notice an issue with their iPod adaptor / interface? I sometimes have a problem with the iPod resuming play when I start my car.
I could be driving around, listening to my iPod...stop by a store, get back into my car and my iPod will not resume playing. "iPod" will stay on the screen but no sound until I either hit "AUX" or skip to a next track.
Anyone experience similar problems?

agreed, i have an older ipod and when i shut off my car it sometimes doesn't resume on start, but even worse then that it doesn't shut off when i turn my car off, so basically the battery is always dead on my ipod cause it never shuts off........
Running a new Ipod Classic 80 gig, damn near fully loaded. I've never had a single problem with it, it's been flawless. You might want to plug it into Itunes and make sure the firmwares updated.

Yeah, I've done all of the firmware updates. It's a relatively new iPod Nano 8gig...with the most current firmware.
I made an appointment at the dealer to see maybe something is wrong in my car with the interface.
I noticed that if it's really quiet in the car when the problem occurs, you can hear the HD spooling. Shortly after the hard drive stops to spool, the iPod starts to play (this could be 2-3mins after I start the car).

I have a similar problem with my iPod too. I think it's a problem with the charging of the iPod though. For some reason, I think it's losing it's charge completely when connected and the car is off. So when you start the car again, the iPod has no charge so it's not on. With the car running, it starts charging again, so it's like you just reconnected it.
If I have my radio playing when I leave my car in the morning, when I go back in the afternoon, the radio will play for about 30 seconds, then the iPod interface comes up. I think it's the same thing, the iPod had no charge then it got charged and the car thinks you just connected it.

The problem isn't the charging, sounds like you have the same problem as me where the ipod isn't sent a shutdown signal when the vehicle is turned off and it just stays on till it dies. If you don't drive the car for long periods of time the battery barely charges and depending on how long the car is left it may not resume when you enter the vehicle the next time cause it died.

If it doesn't work then this will be the first time. Check out the other thread about the same issue.
this is a TSB out for the issue of IPOD disconnects which call for a replacement of the current cable to a differnt one, it will still not charge the 3g's \\ but its supposed to stop the "disconnects"
now disconnects is not really defined... so to me it would be worth asking for the new cable. I just got mine today and I am still testing to see if it fixed a sporadic issue that is Ipod stops responding to commands-- I experieced this once on my nano. (fat one)
i dont have the tsb number but its in my car.
