very dim lcd display in high heat?

I got in my car yesterday after work and the temp read 105, its been that hot for a long time now, as I was driving home I noticed the orange lcd screen was really dim, I hit the brightness buttons and it was on max, if I put it on the lowest it looks basically turned off. I was watching it as I was driving home and it would get brighter then back down, then brighter then back down. Very gradually. Eventually by the time I got home it was the full brightness and fine. It was also fine this morning on my drive into work. Has anyone encountered this? It is one of those things that the dealer won't believe me (like everything) if it isn't happening at that very instance.

I don't have this problem, and my car has been in 107-114d heat without issue... my LCD screen hasn't had any display issues. Sounds like a connection or defect problem related to temperature. I had an LCD light in the car that had problems with heat and had to swap it out...

It was just as hot in the car yesterday after work and it did not react this way. I'll just keep an eye on it and if it does it again or starts to be more often I'll have them look at it at the next appointment.

led display on my xm receiver would be real faint if it got real hot in the car. Also, when I would store my cell phone in the cupholder (or easy bake oven as I called it) in my old rx8, the screen would be so faint you couldnt read it.

But they never fluctuated, just went dim with heat, then faded back in when it cooled off.

I just had this happen to me yesterday in my '08. The outside temperature read 105 and the cluster LCD screen brightness was fluctuating. I can only assume the liquid crystals were having trouble with the interior temperature of the car. After the car cooled down, the fluctuations went away and haven't been seen since.
