My new Escort Passport 9500i instaleld in my G37 has continuous false laser alarms. It is mounted under the mirror. This is the second replacement unit with same problem. Anyone experiencing this issue? I don't have the intelligent cruise control so I don't know what could be causing the issue. Thanks.

Hmmm.. I have the 8500 x50 and only get a few false alarms that are likely from the ICC.

 

idk those things never get false alarms thats weird!

 

how often does it happen?

 

mine will false laser if i tilt it down towards the dash. it's something with the nav i think.

mine is mounted just to the left of the mirror.

 

i dont have the intelligence package or whatever it is and i have the 9500 mounted on my lower windshield and i never have gotten false lasers...

have you tried calling the company and explaining the problem??

 

Try pointing it up from the dash a little more. When I removed my 8500 from the window mount, and left it on by mistake, as soon as I tilted it down to put by the cup holders, it would go off with a loud continuous laser signal. (I've done this a couple of times ). Something in that part of the dash sets it off. It's not the nav - because I don't have that.

 

my 8500 x50 false lasers when i point it to the nav screen or in that direction but it is A-OK mounted on the windshield just above the center dash speaker!!! try that spot out.

 

I have to tilt it up to avoid the false continuous laser alarm. Looks lik the front laser sensor picks up something from the dash. If I put my hand under the sensor, it stops (I am buying an extra hand to glue under

 

Problem identified...And fixed. With the 9500i mounted under the rearview mirror using Mike's mount, the navigation screen interferes and activates the laser detection. The fix was to add 1/2" spacers and longer screws for mounting the plate holding the detector further towards the glass, hence avoiding the direct interference from the nav screen. It now works perfect. All I needed were two 1/" sleve spacers and longer screws.
