IPOD Hookup - Simple Question

Truth be told I've never owned an Ipod as I don't buy into this whole Apple thing. I do, however own an MP3 player, which is a Sansa. The supplied cable fits, however I can not get the car to read the MP3 player.

Two questions regarding this:

1) Is the car only able to read Ipod's, and no other type of MP3 players?

2) If the car can read MP3 players (my Sansa), can the tracks be WMA files, which all my music is?

Thanks for the help guys

You need to use the auxillary inputs under the armrest (red / white / yellow) for any non apple mp3 players. This means you will have to use your player to control the song selection etc, etc.

I am completely with you on the apple is over rated thing, but truth be told the guilt I felt as I purchased my first apple product was quickly forgotten when I realized how useful the integration was to the G37. Even the way it displays song/track info is much better than mp3s off the CD or compact flash reader.

The iPod integration part will only work with iPod. It's exclusive. So your Sansa would not work. You could just use the stereo AUX RCA inputs, however, you would need to control from the mp3 player.

You should get an iPod. It's totally worth it just to be able to control all from the screen and steering wheel controls.

Looks like a trip to Best Buy is on the cards this afternoon. The functionality of the steering wheel or screen controls makes it worth it.

Thanks for the quick feedback.
