yeah off the HU i tapped and ran it back it was easy the schematics for the system are on here or the dealer has it i got it from my boy who does installs locally. its pretty easy just a Pain to get to the HU

I was told you could just tap into the rear speaker wires with a high/low converter and not mess with the HU............does that sound correct??

Yes. The AudioControl DQL-8 rules for that. There are also plain coverters for 1/4 of the price that would work, such as the LC-8. It depends on what you are going to do. We have options.
