Clayzoo.... I like the way those rims came out.
I'll be sure to look for some Autodip the wheels on my FX.

I was extremely satisfied with the autodip product even after I had to redo one wheel. But the rest of the wheel was easy to remove once I got it started better than plasti-dip that is rubber based.....autodip seems to be vinyl based product

HELP PLEASE!! looking to powder coat my rims and paint my brake callipers

Hey there guys,
I bought my 2011 G37XS coupe a few months ago and love it.
Im ready to modify it a little bit but want to do it right. Im looking at powder coating the rims black (its a white car) and id also like to (at the same time?) paint my brake callipers red. Does anyone know of a place that will do a quality job of these two tasks at once? I live in north Philadelphia.

On another note, can you post more pictures of your car?

Is it vinyl wrapped or dipped?

This looks so much nicer than plasti-dip. Makes me want to pick up a few cans of the bronze metallic to see how it would look on my silver coupe.

Dane,
If you plan to powdercoat your calipers they'll need to resealed. You can also DIY the paint job on them while your wheels are getting powdercoated. Here's a good DIY on that~

Clayzoo, thanks for the info on the AutoDip, looks good.

Dipped

I plastidipped my wheels. I took mine off and sprayed them. They turned out great.

I did mine today. Matte black base coats covered with copper metalizer to achieve bronze. Absolutely love the look.

Might not be everyone's favorite look. But, I challenge earlier posters to say this looks 'retarded'. I'll gladly do this as often as need be to keep this incredible look.

Dip over spray on the tires peeled off in seconds. Did the window trim and logos as well. Got to minimize the chrome.

^ not bad. For some reason I just like the dark Knight type of look haha. I peeled off the dip from mine and redoing again. They held up amazingly well for past 6 months. I want to redip again so it's strong for winter.

Bought 4 cans of black and 3 cans of glossifer. There are so many colors... hard to choose from.

Looking good Kimmspeed. Only thing I'd change up would be the lug nuts, I think black lug nuts would go well on the bronze. The front & rear badges look nice IMO.

You're on to something there. I dipped them with the wheels on the car. So the lugs got the full spray. I am going to peel them back to chrome to match the center caps. But, black might look better.

I feel you. Can't tell you the reluctance I had hitting them with the metalizer. The matte looked so good when dried.

But, around here the matte black wheels were getting a little too popular around 2010. Kids here have astronomical discretionary funds. There wasn't a Porsche or Range in sight without the matte black treatment.

It does look SO good though. Bronze has about run its course too. But, I just can't go bright, obnoxiousness like they're doing now.

Hey Kimm do you think you could share how many coats you did with each color? This looks fantastic and I have been thinking about dipping my stock wheels bronze.
