19" Rays on a G37x Sedan

Hey, I've read that staggered set ups can work on AWD cars if the sizes aren't too different, but I don't know what is close enough. I just found someone in my city who sold his G35 with aftermarket wheels, and is now selling his OEM Rays. He just put on new tires. The tire sizes are 225/40 front and 245/40 rear. Will that be okay on my AWD sedan? I'd like to buy these tomorrow morning, so if someone that knows could respond asap, that would be really helpful. Thanks!

I know it can, and has been done. I've already read multiple threads about it. I also know I can fit the same size tire on both the front and rear wheels and that would work.

I'm just wondering if the size of tires this guy already has will work with AWD, or if the size difference is too big. Could someone let me know?

No, those will cause issues w/ your AWD setup, but just match the rear tire size in front to run 245/40s all around and you'll be fine, the 1/2" stagger is so minimal there won't be differences in your rolling diameter.
Here's a calculator when you want to try different setups
https://www.myg37.com/forums/tire_rim_calculator.php
The tires you listed have a front to rear diameter variance of 2.36%, for AWD you need to be less than 1% and there's combos that are as low as 0.07% so that's ideal.

if you are going to run staggered tires then they need to be in the 225/45 & 245/40 configuration or 245/40 & 275/35....or just run 245/40s all around

I ended up buying the wheels, and I already bought some 245/40 r19's to put on them. They are in really good shape, except that they were painted gray and the paint on one wheel is chipping. I talked the guy down to $760, which was pretty good because they came with a new set of Blizzaks. I'll sell those and will have ended up only spending $300-400 on the wheels. I'll post pictures when I get them on my car.

Most threads I can find about springs are at least a couple years old. From what I can tell, it doesn't look like Eibach has made springs for the 2010+ AWD sedan yet, is that right? I can't decide which springs I want. If the Swift springs dropped it just a little lower I'd get those for sure. Is there a better option for springs that are a little lower than the Swift springs, but don't have "butt sag"?

If you have the budget might consider KSport Coilovers.

Would definitely recommend coils over springs. Though on the X's there isn't any sag, just a nice rake. The perfect stance IMO.

There are no coilovers for the X, Weill ones that don't make noise, Just get swift springs, coilovers are a headache IMO

Eibach makes springs for the AWD sedan. I know because I have them.

Part # 6394.140. Expect to pay about $240.00.

Fortune 500 are what I run and I'm not experiencing any noises. The ride is also much much better IMO. For Fortune I would suggest calling and asking them about the longer springs, I am almost maxed out on the rear height and I would actually prefer it to be a little higher. The front was just adjusted up and I'm happy at that height given these roads and a TBW metal under shroud.

Stance also came out with a set for the X recently, haven't heard much about them since the announcement though.

AFAIK the Stance coils for the X can't be confirmed, would be nice to get a confirmed part # for them.
FWIW I think the only coils that should be considered would be the Fortunes & the KSports. The KSports go w/ a true rear coilover configuration which may eliminate one source of the clunking that some have dealt with. The Fortunes seem to be mostly noise free, a couple complaints about rear noises but that may have to do w/ improper preload perhaps.
