My fear of getting springs with a bigger drop, like H&R's is that it will be hard on other suspension parts, and will cause other repairs to be needed. I had Eibach's on my 08 G35 and always wished it was lower. So I do think I'd prefer coils, I just haven't decided whether to save money or get exactly what I want.

Blnewt, I've seen other threads where you advised people to get the Fortune 500 coils. I'd only like a 2" drop, and would probably be satisfied with anything between 1.75"-2.25". I don't have the space or tools to install them myself (I live in an apartment and park on a busy street), so I'd have someone install them for me and would probably never adjust them unless it's really simple to do. I will never track the car. Is there a good reason to spend more on the Fortune 500's, rather than just get K Sports?

The main problem is there just isn't many reviews on the Fortunes or the K Sports. Both seem to be decent quality and KSport has a wide product line w/ some coilovers such as their circuit pro sets that cost almost $3k so they are quite versed in suspension products.
Having a true rear coilover should be a plus since the OEM separate rear spring/shock tends to cause some clunking in some sets.
So far I haven't read any negative K Sport reviews, but there's only been a few

When I look those up it says they're for the AWD coupe. The 6399.140 is for the 08-09 AWD sedan, that's what I had on my 08 G35. I'll have to look up pictures of how the 6394.140 looks on AWD sedans. The site I found them on is having 20% off orders over $200 until 11/5, so I could get them for just under $200.

The front was just adjusted up and I'm happy at that height given these roads and a TBW metal under shroud.

Stance also came out with a set for the X recently, haven't heard much about them since the announcement though.

That's exactly what I want mine to look like, and I even just bought those wheels haha. Someone is selling Fortune 500's in the classifieds right now, but I won't be able to convince my wife to let me get them after I already just bought wheels a couple days ago. When I go to their website, it gives you a couple options that cost a little more, did you pick any of those options or just get the base ones?

Yep. That's correct. I went with the coupe set-up for the spring rates which limited my exposure to the dreaded 'droopy butt'. I'd have done the same if I'd gone with Swifts, as Swifts are apparently more prone to DB.

Anyhow, here's some not-so-good pics:

Yeah that looks pretty good. The rear still does seem a little lower than the front but it's not bad. On my G35 I think the front and rear were pretty even, I wonder what changed after 2010. I'll post some pictures of it.

Does it cost the same to have springs or coils installed? I was quoted at $400 for springs and an alignment. They said if I came back to get a camber kit installed and another alignment, it would be another 4-500.

For some reason it won't let me do more than 1 attachment per post.

Yep. It looks a little lower. The pics are not the best for showing the rake. Additionally, the rear fender comes down a bit lower than the front making it appear that way. Believe me, I measured and the rear is about .27" higher.

I doubt springs and coils cost the same. I had F&R full camber kits (SPC), sways (Hotchkis), springs, tires mounted and an AWD alignment for, IIRC, $700'ish.

What is your actual ground to fender measurement? I measured mine last night and I'm at 28.5" in both the front and rear.

Mine are street valved with Swift springs. I didn't get the extenders or anything else. I'm fairly certain if I were married I would still be in my TrailBlazer... I bought the G since it didn't need any work and have not spent a small fortune on it.

I don't think DB impacted the X when on Swifts. Naturally I can't find any pics on Swifts. I think I was so pissed at the ride that I was focused on other things. But definitely the rear appears to sit lower due to the way it's designed which I think you mentioned in there somewhere or in one I didn't copy.

I would do the camber kits at the same time as the coils or springs otherwise you're just doing some of the same work over again (ask me how I know). I'm paying around $50 an hour to get my work done bu I don't think I was into the coil install for more than $200 if that. Alignment wise I went to Firestone for their lifetime alignment which has more than paid for itself.

OP - You may want to consider saving up and just running the 4x4 stance for now. Maybe there's a holiday in between that you'll get a gift or two and camber kits could be on your list. In my case I bought two sets of wheels and tires, springs then coils plus the camber kits and tie rod ends.

Rex - You are correct. The X does hold its a** higher than the RWD. Just ask Rochester..... Better yet, don't.

Lowering springs take a bit longer to install since you have to remove the OEM spring and reinstall the new springs back on the front shock, but you have to adjust the coilover height and this may take a few attempts to get just the height you want. So in short~it depends, lol

Brad I talked to Stance today, they said early next year the G37x coils will be out.

Great that fits my mod schedule perfectly!!!

I want those air cups too so I can negotiate some of the more aggressive driveways and ramps.
