Steering wheel vibration

Recently I had my x coupe dropped on Eibach pro-kit springs and had the SPC camber kit installed at the same time. It was very obvious that my alignment was jacked. I waited about 1.5 weeks and then had my alignment done. On the same day (post alignment) I had my new wheels/tires mounted, balanced and put on the car. The wheels are Niche Enyo M115 20x8.5 +25 & 20x10 +40; tires are Toyo Proxes T1 Sport 245/35 & 285/30. Later that day I took the car on the highway and got it up past 70 and noticed vibration.

On to the relevant bits: the next day I took it back and told them. They were happy to look at it. I was told that my wheels are balanced and the problem may stem from the fact that the bore size of the wheel is 72.6mm(wheel manu site) and the G37 hub is 66.1mm (according to my Googling). They said I needed hub rings. So has anyone had this issue? Should I just go ahead and get them? What is a good brand? Where can I get them?

Also, the car feels really wobbly when I make any aggressive lane changes (potholes and such). As far as I'm told the T1s are supposed to have a pretty stiff sidewall so what can I do to remedy that? Sway bars? Strut brace?

Yes, definitely get the hub rings, the aluminum ones are best, might shoot a PM to Rochester and ask where he got his. Tirerack sells plastic ones that are OK for eliminating vibration but don't hold up well w/ a few dismounts.

As far as feeling wobbly, that may be a bit of tramlining which is more common w/ wider tires. Google tramlining and you'll get a better idea. Also it takes a few hundred miles for performance tires to break in and lose their initial slickness.

Do you have your alignment specs BTW?

Not sure about the X coupe but I know the X sedan has a very small rear sway bar so you might look into replacing that, even a regular RWD sway bar is much larger (in the sedans at least).

You've made some significant changes to your G so it will take a while to get used to everything. Wider summer tires, lowering springs, and larger diameter wheels w/ the associated smaller sidewall tires all contribute to significantly more road feel and just more awareness of what your driving over.

Thanks newt. No, I don't have the specs - I forgot to take them.
I do plan on replacing the rear sway with a RWD one.

Found these
hub rings hub rings
on Amazon so I'm gonna give them a try and since I have to take the wheels off I'm gonna replace my HIDs with Osram 5000K at the same time

blnewt speaks the truth. I just made significant changes to my S coupe with Kw V1's, camber kit, new tires/rims, and exhaust (exhaust has nothing to do with handling) and I was having concerns like you are. I recommend keeping an eye on your tire pressure (found out mine were overinflated by 7psi!) which I am sure contributed to the awkward handling I was feeling. I also need to finish dialing in my ride height. I should have been more proactive during the installation process and asked more questions. I took for granted that the shop was as picky as I was about the setup.
