Aftermarket Wheels - Anyone running Square Setup?

I'm considering getting aftermarket wheels/tires for my 2011 G Journey Sedan. Also would do a mild drop at the same time (probably Swift Springs).

Seems like everyone here with aftermarket wheels/tires is running a staggered setup. I agree it offers better performance and the aggressive look is awesome.

But is anyone running a square setup, and if so, could you post pictures? I'm very interested in seeing what this looks like.

I'm a practical person and would like to be able to rotate my tires to extend their life.

It's going to look like having the identical wheels front and back, that's all. Most everyone except the RWD Sport owners are running square setups. What are you expecting? Dragion has a square setup of aftermarket wheels on his xS. Perfectly flush. Looks great.

Now if you really want to cripple your rotation options, get a staggered setup with directional spokes. Nothing says "ballin" like four individually unique rims on the same car.

Follow your instincts, OP. It doesn't matter that all the cool kids are staggered. They've got money to burn.

LOL, always good for a chuckle

Here's a thread for squared setups, and can look just as cool as the money-burnin' cool kids.

I went staggered because I wanted a wider tire on the rear and at the same time, save some weight up front with a not-so-wide tire.

Square setups are equally cool and most people won't be able to tell if you are staggered or squared. You could also run a spacer in the rear if you want a more aggressive and staggered look.

If you play with the offsets and not the widths, they will look like different rims.

I have square setup on my G. It's pretty flush and looks classy yet a little aggressive. Tires aren't cheap as you will find out if you go with performance rubbers.

Your car is set up very nice. Perfect amount of drop and nice fitment of the wheels.

Did you have to use spacers, or was the offset of the wheels enough to bring them flush with the body?

Thanks for the compliment. I did not need to use spacers on my car withe the wheels and the drop. I did need 5mm spacers in the front wheels when I installed the Akebono BBK. The calipers are BIG, and the rims were just a C-hair (literally) to shallow to fit without the spacers.

i am running 20x10.5 +35. all around, on 275/25/20
my fenders are rolled and pulled about an inch.. maybe less and lowered on D2 racing coils..

i love the look as my wheels are concave so i get full concave front and back.

Nah. Rotating tires are overrated (and for deadbeat bums living in their parents' basements)

On a serious note though, over the years of running staggered wheels, you really don't burn through tires that much more than non-staggered. I liken the argument to getting a car that requires 91 octane over a car that only needs 87 octane. The price difference you pay in the long run is not as significant as you might think.

Yes, you might have to replace the rear tires sooner, but the front tires might only need to get replaced every other time. It balances out.

Square set up on a RWD???

What y'all think about square setup on a RWD. I have a 09 g37 I bought 20x10 +35 all around and was thinking about putting eibach springs and still don't know if I should run the same tire size or different. Thanks for your help!!!!!

What's the best staggered numbers for the Awd's to be under that 1%? Hard to fight not wanting a staggered look

A 10+35 will limit what you can run since it will already be tight at the fender. And yes, you will want to lower your G as 20s don't look great at stock height.
If you don't want to do any fender mods a 255/35/20 all around is about as wide as you could run, and even then you may rub on the inside front fender under heavy compression. You'll be ok in back w/ those though.
