Haunted G37

I have a 2009 G37 convertible. I am having top issues. I have owned the car for about 5 years. It is my weekend summer car. So it is parked a lot. The car randomly opens the windows by itself when parked in the garage. Sometimes it is just a crack and other times it is fully down. Also sometimes the trunk is open.

The other day all the windows were down and the trunk was popped open. I closed the trunk and tried putting down the top and it would not go down. I would push the button and it kept saying the trunk was open. I could close the trunk but I could not open the trunk. It seemed like the top was in mid cycle to open. I disconnected the battery for a few days. And was eventually able to get the top to work. This is the first year I drove the car every weekend to keep the battery charged. The previous years the battery would be dead after the winter and I would have to replace it. Anyone else experience something like this? It seems like the car is haunted and after sitting for a bit it wants to put the top down by itself . Is there any kind of maintenance for the top? Lube? Replace struts? Sensor?

If you hold the unlock button on your key fob, it will roll down the windows. That (and the trunk release button on the fob) could explain your gremlins.

As for the battery draining and dying... for about $30 get yourself a Battery Tender. You should do that for any car that parks for weeks without being driven. Assuming you have electrical power in your garage, that's a simple fix.

I Will advise you to call your technician because that might end up damaging the car

It is not the key folb. The keys are in the house and not in my pocket. Sometimes the windows are 1/2 down and other times it is a couple inches. The trunk is not alway open and sometimes it is only the trunk open. This happens maybe once a month and mostly in the winter when I am not driving the car.

These cars present with all sorts of odd behaviours when the battery gets weak. You have already indicated that the car does not get used frequently, therefore, the battery suffers the worst fate- especially in the colder months.

As @Rochester clearly suggested, get a battery tender to give you and the car some peace of mind. Then, if the problem recurs, you can delve into gremlin exorcism...
