Improve the ride

Getting older, so now looking to get a smoother ride in my G37 Vert.

Has anyone changed the wheel size from 19” to 18” and if so does this give a better ride?

Has anyone upgraded to air suspension, with any photo’s of the install, where do the tanks and compressors go?

Any thought’s information welcome, I am in the UK the cost of 18” wheels around $2k and the air suspension is north or $5k.

I do the switch every spring/fall between the 18" duckfeet and the coupe 19"s and the duckfeet are definitely softer on the butt, not by much but it is noticeable. Of course lots of that will depend on the tire choice as well. In my case it's Michelin x-ice and Hankook Evos. In my opinion I don't think the difference would be worth the 2k. The air ride or a nice soft coil over setup would probably give you a better result

If you're to a point where you'd consider spending 5k on improving the ride, I think you'd be way better off putting that towards a more comfortable vehicle at that point. What pressure do you run your tires at?

Hi Muck_Man

Thanks for the feedback, Never considered coil overs, i thought these where for making it more sporty and firm . So any info on softer coil overs?

18" softer on the butt , might be what I try

Hi Epiphany
The tyre pressure is 38 psi / 2.5 bar.

I had already gave up on air suspension, no place really to install it, but thanks for your response

Not really off the top of my head. I have Swifts on mine and it is definitely not softer than the stock springs. Do some research, there are many adjustable coils over and many companies offer custom spring rates as well. You could give one of them a call and tell them what you are looking for and they may be able to help you out.

Thanks, I have started to look at this option. Does look better price wise.
