Work VS-XX teaser and brake clearance/spacer question (PICTURE)

I'm getting ready to mount my rear 20x10.5 Work VS-XX step rim wheels on my SEDAN with Akebono, but I need a little feedback regarding brake clearance.

I have a 10mm spacer installed in these pics. Quick background as to what I'm trying to accomplish:

Wheels are 20x10.5 O-disk +42 offset (with no spacer).
As pictured, I'd be running a +32 offset on my SEDAN.
I'm trying to use the smallest spacer possible to avoid going aggresive.
I'm coming from a 20x10.5 +25, which was a bit too aggresive for me.
I don't want to do a fender pull.
I tried a 5mm, and it doesn't clear the caliper.

Based on the pictures, can I get away with an 8mm spacer?

Simply measure the shortest distance from the caliper to the rim. You will need some clearance between the two to be safe.

I've heard of some people running "credit card clearance" and being fine.

For those running an 3mm-8mm spacer, how do you deal with the center bore (hubcentric) situation? I was looking at the end of the stock center bore, and it protrudes quite a bit. If it protrudes more than the thickness of the spacer, will the wheel automatically engage in the stock center bore meaning that a hubcentric spacer is not necessary? It seems that all 8mm or smaller spacers are completely flat (without the extra lip in the center). I plan to swap out the OEM studs for extended ones.

Does anyone have first hand experience with this?

My wheels also came with a ring adapter to make it centered. How does this play a role in the above?

OEM wheels are hub centric and would require spacers that are also hubcentric.

Aftermarket wheels are lug centric. you will need to use tapered lugs to center the wheel by lugs.

With small spacers, typically 7mm or less, do not require extended studs. Typically, the lug requires at least 6 full turns to be safe. I would buy it, try it out and see if you can get more than 6 full turns before purchasing extended studs.

IMO, buy any spacers (non-hubcentric to save money since it is not required by your wheel) and mount them.

Do your 10mm spacers cause your tires to rub or just too close for your liking?

Ideally the smaller the spacer the better. It'll let me run less negative camber. Every mm counts.

Just came back from the shop. I had to temporarily install 20mm spacers until I get the correct extended wheel studs for my 8mm spacer.

Wheels look very aggresive on my sedan since I'm currently running +22 in the rear with no pull. After I swap out for the 8mm, then I'll be at +34 and get rid of some negative camber.

I'll post pics by Monday.

So I assume that's w/ the 8mm spacer installed? Looks real aggressive but those wheels are beautiful
Not usually a fan of stretched/cambered setups just because of the compromises in the drive, but when done right it can really look nice. Looks like you're well on your way.
BTW, what wheel specs are you running up front to clear those monster calipers?
Look forward to more pics and specs

Actually, that's with the 20mm spacers (+22 effective) on a +42 10.5 wheel and quite a bit of camber. I'll swap out the spacer for 8mm and install my extended studs later this week. Once I do, I'll be able to dial some positive camber to about -3 since I'll be running a +34 offset.

The fronts will be +28 with a 5mm spacer (+23 effective) on a 9.5 wheel.

I can't wait.

Oh, OK, thought that looked a bit more aggressive than what you were hoping, 12mm in should make a huge difference.
Looking forward to final install pics
How much caliper clearance do you have in front? I'm guessing it's pretty close too.

The front will have tight caliper clearance. It took a while, but I was able to determine maximum lip size with the setup I ordered without going with crazy offsets.

I have only received the rears for now. I'll be getting the fronts sometime in September.
