Of course, spare is on and I am waiting on gathering some good suggestions regarding winter tires.

Like I said in my original post, in a situation like mine, if one has to ask the internet then one already kinda knows that the tire is unsafe.

 

That's a nasty cut, all you need is that sidewall flexing to much & boom.
Hate to say it, this is one of those times, unless you have a road hazard warranty you may have to eat this one.
It's not safe, I've replaced tires with less sidewall damage than that.
You have to put your safety ahead of the expense, I know it bites.

Had got 2 flats at once with brand new hankook ventus v12 lasted 2 days.
Know where your coming from. Plus if visual inspection is made, unless they are blind you would fail inspection.

Hankook covered a new tires once, even though i didn't have road hazard.
You got nothing to lose, you may get lucky I did.
Saved $185.00+tax & mounting/balancing.
Would have been $238.00+ tax if they didn't take care of it.
I'd give it a shot.

 

For Winter tires, I have Bridgestone Blizzaks. I would say that either the Bridgestones or the Michelin X-ice would be a good choice.

 

it looks like the same as the one i have on my tires maybe yours is a little deeper but stupidly instead of getting that tire fixed i got new rims and new tires for the rims and when winter came i completely forgot about the tear in my tires. i got a flat lately but i noticed early and thank god nothing happened to my car. id recommend not driving on it.
