I have 4 Michelin X-Ice Xi2 (bought new Nov 2 2011) size 225/50R18. They are mounted on the 2011 factory Sport wheels.

For the summer, you can see what I have by looking in my Garage

Assuming you're at stock ride height, there should be more than enough fender clearance to run +35mm. I don't think I have any pictures of my car on its winter shoes but, if memory serves me correctly, the difference in offset from the stock wheels is hardly noticeable.

I relegated my factory rims to winter duty and put on a staggered set of LM-60 Blizzaks. They work great in all but deep snow and still perform decently when the roads are clear. I debated going with a square setup but the 225's get stretched a bit on the back rims and leave them more exposed to curbs hidden in snow banks. You may be best to put your rim money toward something nicer for the summer unless you can find a set of used 18" G37 or 370Z rims. There are not many cheap choices in new 18" rims that fit over the brakes.
