I recently got a 2013 G37xS. It has the Enkei 19x85 rims all the way around. The stock tires are All Season Advans 225/45/19.

The handling seems ok, but not great. It seems like the non-AWD G37's I drove handled better. They seemed more responsive.

I don't know if the slight difference in looseness is because of the AWD, Tires, or something else in the suspension. What do you think?

I have thought about changing the tires to Michelin Pilot Sports. What changes do you think I will see compared to the Advan A/S, in the way of:
Performance:
Handling:
Comfort:
Noise:

Any feedback from people that went from All Seasons to the Pilot Sports would be especially helpful.

 

All season tires = no season tires. Get some good summer rubber on there and it'll handle a lot differently. You might want to consider sway bars too if there's too much body roll for your liking.

Most people have gone with wider tires for the michelin PSS's. In fact, one of the items on my to do list is to try to find some feedback from those running them in stock sizes on 18" wheels (rwd S sedan).

If I don't go with the PSS's, i'll likely end up with the bridgestone S04's (also in stock size). Need a tire with a stiff side wall for good feedback.

In general, performance will increase (stickier rubber), handling will also be more precise (stiffer sidewalls), comfort will decrease (see above), noise varies. I've read good reviews about the PSS's, but don't recall if that was stock size or larger.

The comments above apply to any performance tire vs all season though, and not necessarily the PSS. As a summer only tire, no performance tire should be used in the snow or extreme cold temps.

 

Higher up the performance food chain you go the shorter life, stiffer ride, and more noise they will make. However, you'll gain much more steering response and dry grip. It's the opposite the closer you get to an all season tire. What percentage is subjective to the user and hard to specifically say.

 

If you're looking for specific feedback like that, go to tirerack or 1010tires and read the reviews. You'll get a lot more there.

 

I did do that, but i kept finding feedback from folks with Ford Taurus' etc. and i figured that some g37x owners might have made the switch to good summer tires.
