I'm planning on replacing the OEMs with General G-MAX AS-03's as soon as they wear down a bit, likely in a couple months.

They will be 245/50-17's, though. That's slightly wider (about 3/4") than the OEM 225/55-17.

Haven't been on the market for long but I have been getting good dry traction and steering response reports from my customers thus far. Snow hasn't seen them this soon so the a/s verdict isn't in yet. Stay tuned!

I've been running the General G-Max AS-03s for about 3 weeks now since I bought by "new" 2009 G37 Sport Coupe. At first I was a bit worried because they weren't the Potenzas that I had heard usually come stock. But the few reviews out there seem to be positive, and so far they've been handling well in dry conditions.

Guess we will see how they hold up over time and in the rain, and when I really start to push them.

What's the general / recommended break in period for new tires? 500 miles?
