Vert Tire Wear Question

are your vert rear tires wearing more on the inside of the tire? My tires are wearing alot more on the inside of my stock tires and are almost down to the Cords on the inside. its got 24000k. is this normal or does it need an alignment or camber adjustment of some sort? what is the average life span of these tires?

Likely an alignment issue. I assume you are referring to the rears not the fronts. Please confirm.

After having these tires on 3 G's now, i can tell you 24k is a GREAT number to be getting out of these tires.

I got 26kish miles on the OEM tires on my last G and it was getting dangerous

I think he is at 24,000 km not miles. This would equate to approximately 15k miles...

You need wheel alignment at least once a year, I get it done every 5 K miles.. on all my cars.

WOW - that is pretty extreme. (admirable indeed but extreme)
I would need to buy my own Hunter machine to keep up with that kind of schedule...

Don't need a Hunter Alignment machine! when you can get lifetime alignment with a tech for only $120/per car, which includes alignment, balance & rotation (if need be -on staggered tires- L to R), it's really worth the cost

SO much missing information from this post!

Front or rear?
Stock tires or?
Miles or Kilometers?
Lowered or stock height?

you certainly need 4 wheel alignment and you could move L tires to R and R to L if your tires are not unidirectional tires.

yeah i thought of that.. just got off the phone with the tech at infiniti and he told me once my new tires are on they want to run an alignment because from new till now the springs and suspension will sag a bit but they just gotta bring the camber in a little. Black and silver CV1's just got shipped today from Cali so should be a week before i see them. got Hankook V12's on them, hope these tires serve me well.

Nice. Depending on how you drive it may or may not serve you well. Since you are not lowered and will be withing spec once you get alignment they should last a good bit.

You can check the manufacturer's wear rating and compare to the stock tires - this should give you some comparative analysis between the 2 and you can extrapolate the differenc between the 2 ratings to determine the approximate additional life expectancy.

FYI - The OEM 19" tires have a 140 rating for tread wear and the Ventus V12's have a 280 rating. This would suggest that (all things considered equally), you can expect to get twice the wear from the Ventus as compared to the Bridgestones.

Bottom line: To ensure maximum tire life - check your tire wear during each 3,000 mile oil change and rotate every other change. And, if you are smart like CVipgo, get an annual alignment.

Inside wear just means you probably have more corners in your commute than others.
