Are there optional tire sizes to use with the stock G37S 19's???

Looking for new tires, but was wondering if I could get an alternative size to what the G37S comes with. I like the stock bridgestones, but want to know what other options I have.

I just ordered Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus tires:

245/40/19 front
275/35/19 back

Total including hazard insurance, nitrogen and installation was around 1300... unfortunately, they're pretty expensive. The good part is they have a 45k mile warranty on them. I hope this is the only time I replace them before I turn in my lease...

I have 255/40/19 F and 275/35/19 R. You could easily go 285 R with no problem. Yokohama S drives for under $900 for the set.

According to the Tire Rack surveys, the RE050A Pole Positions look to be better all the way around than the stock RE050A's, for the same price. Also, they're available in 225/45/19, 245/40/19 and 275/35/19 (stock and plus zero) sizes.

This is the exact set up that I researched and I am leaning heavily toward that.

How did this work out for you?

This is what I wrote about them on another thread on this board:

So far I can honestly say they are much better OVERALL than the OEMs... wet traction is far superior, and dry is almost as good... I did manage to have a little slip while in 3rd gear once while going straight(which I never did with the OEMs... I dont know what happened... I tried recreating it again and I couldn't!!!)

As far as hard cornering, they do slip more than the OEMs. For 95% of driving however, they are very good tires, and if you dont plan on racing your car, you'll be fine...

They are substantially more quiet than the OEMs (although this could be due to the OEMs being worn and noisy). They feel like they absorb everything much better (bumps/highway junction points).

They look a lot meaner than the OEMs (I like their thread pattern for whatever reason).

They have a 45k mile warranty on them and 500 tread rating (hopefully they will last me for another 1 1/2 years until my lease is up).

Overall, I would buy them again if the tread wear is what they say it is... for me the look/alleged life of the tire far outweighs any loss in performance!

Thanks for the review.

I'm betting that you'll see less slippage in the corners once they are worn in and broken in a bit. I've always been told that newer tires slip a little more until they are worn in because they have a coating on it which it put on during manifacturing to help them pop out of the mold easier... Maybe Shumby or another one our resident tire experts can confirm... Does anyone know that for sure(?)

You're in Miami so it cant be the colder winter temps... LOL
