Dealer damaged all of my wheels! :(

It was extreamly hot outside this past weekend so I decided to take my 3 week old g37 to the dealer on Saturday afternoon to get a complimentary wash.

Well come Saturday later in the day and I notice that something is wrong with my wheels. There are like water marks/spots on every wheel that look like they ate right through the paint. I am extreamly pissed that my 1000mi car now has all damaged wheels.

I took the car back to the dealer yesterday afternoon and spoke w/ the service manager. He called out the wash bay manager and had him inspect the wheels. As he was inspecting my wheels I could hear him mumble "Looks like someone is buying him some new rims."

Turns out they sprayed some acid on my wheels (don't even know why) and never washed it off...

The service manager said he would call me back but I still have not heard back...I'm expecting to have all of the wheels replaced by them. I'm going to wait till lunch time today and then call them back.

Has anyone else had similar problems, and if so, what was your outcome?

Pics would help determine what these spots might be...

It happend to me also, but it was my custom wheels instead of stocks
But, it happend when I told the dealership NOT to wash the car and they did.
I immediately brought it to the service consultant's attention, which he personally knew I did not want my car wash.
Surprisingly, the whole thing went smooth. I got my wheels replaced

Sorry to hear & I expect you will get new wheels.

I just added example #437 of why I will never let anyone wash my car.

1) Always do a walk around w/SA when leaving my car for service.
2) Make sure "DO NOT WASH" written on service order.
3) Signage on dash & rear "DO NOT WASH"

Overly obsessive (i.e. "only a car") ?... perhaps. Works for me.

/Nothing is free, sometimes worse.
//Damn straight, new wheels are a 'comin...but screw the hassle.

What just makes me sad is that I could have gotten the car ~ $500 cheaper at another dealer only because this dealer promised me free car washes for life and oil changes.

I went out of my way to drive 25 mins to this dealer to have my car washed inside of a building away from heat when I could have washed it myself at home and busted a nice sweat.

I'm just sad this happened to my brand new car

How many oil changes? For life??? That'd still be worth it.

Yeah, they said it would be for the life span of me owning the car.

Yeah, that's still a good deal but sad to see this happen with their wash bay. How come it wasn't damaged when they washed it after I took delivery? They use the same wash bay and they hand wash...

Just called and spoke w/ the Service Manager. He said that the detail bay sprayed wheel cleaner on the wheels and must have forgotten to wash it off.

He said that he could get my wheels redone (meaning repainted), I said no way. He then said new wheels.

+ 1 for the dealer taking initiative on this problem. It is a hassle and some stress on my part but overall so far a good experience with the dealer stepping up and having my problem resolved.

ah you should just get the money from them and buy aftermarkets.... then if you need your stockers nice again... pay 400 out of your pocket to repaint them...

that would be an awesome situation if you could get the money instead of new stockers...

Add: Always look under the hood when getting you car back from service.

When my FORMER dealer did the first oil change, they did not put back or close any of the fluid caps, including the oil. When I got home a few hours later and happened to look under the hood, the oil cap was off and there was oil all over the engine and the inside of the hood.

Do NOT let them paint the wheels, demand new wheels!

Also see if they will cut you a check for the price so you can get a set of aftermarket wheels!

Yeah, I already asked them for new wheels. He said he was going to speak with the regional infiniti rep today about that. I don't want aftermarket wheels, I'm happy with the way the stock wheels look.

I'll keep this thread updated with the progress of my issue
