Manufactuers generally make their products in batches. Typically, later batches cost more than earlier ones due to material cost going up. Rarely, it will go down due to refinements in the process, or a drop in labor/materiel cost.

When Lou has a special, it is generally because the manufacturer doesn't want their assets tied up in inventory, and is willing to blow it out. Vendors sometimes (or often in the case of Lou) pass this on the customers to pick up a little extra business. When the inventory is gone, the price is gone as well.

Most manufacturers are smart enough that this rarely if ever happens.

(I'm still a little butt hurt about passing up a deal on some volks... but that was my own decision )

AMPD'd has shown nothing but love to me, anyone who doubts their shop is insane. I ordered my Top Secret carbon diffuser from Lou, paypal'd him online, didnt even need a proof of order because I trusted him, bam two weeks later my part was here. I would never trust spending $1,600 on a part without going into a shop and no proof of ordering from anyone else!

I just bought KWs from Lou for 300 bucks... he quoted, I bought them with 10 minutes...

But seriously... I doubt you were in constant communication if the price "suddenly" changed... just dont add up
