I used that "spec sheet" idea at last weekend's car meet in Canada.

Kind of geeky, and I was the only one to do it. However, I can't deny that when people wandered through the cars, they would gather and read the thing. It was definitely a point of discussion... so it did exactly what was intended.

True. I talked to that kid about his stickers (and let's face it, they're mostly kids). Although they were all in the design of their particular manufacturer, he had someone size them similarly, and cut them on the same gray vinyl. That's how he got the continuity. It was pretty cool, actually. I think it was executed well. Far better than slapping decals on the window because they came with your catback.

Although... Falken? Srsly? LOL

 

Hey Guys (the inclusive 'guys' not just boys),

Here are my plans for getting to the meet.

My Route:

I-70 E to the Baltimore Beltway then to I-83 N (Shrewsbury, PA hook-up), then US-30/US-22 E to (Bethlehem, PA hook-up) US-33/I-380 N to the meet.

Timing:

I'm leaving Sykesville, MD around 7:00. I'll be at Shrewsbury, PA around 8:00 AM to link with dwb993 and then onward to hooking up with Bionicman in Bethlehem, PA (US 22 and US 33 area) around 10:00/10:30 AM or so.

These guys (not inclusive; both male) have foolishly agreed to wake early and head up so we can reserve parking and spruce things up for the main act.

So anywhere along there that looks good to meet up, just let me know and we'll caravan!! Name it, I'm flexible.

One week from tomorrow... Is there anyone from Upstate NY driving down with me? I know that Somename can't make the event, so AFAIK it's just me and my kid on a 3-4 hour road trip.

From Rochester, NY, I'll be heading South on Highway 390 into Highway 86 to Binghamtom, then straight down Highway 81 past Scranton.

However, if someone gives me reason to take an alternate route, I could first head East on Interstate 90 to Syracuse, going straight down Highway 81 from there.

I'm just 40 minutes out of Manhattan, it always makes me chuckle that our urban brethren regard EVERYTHING north of the Bronx as "Upstate".
Geography be damned!

 

LOL. That's true... Manhattan and Long Island consider the entire rest of NY as Upstate.

More accurately said, I'm in Western New York, and Syracuse is Central NY. With tongue-in-cheek, we call our area "North Coast".

 

Heck even the NFL rarely calls the Bills "NY"
Wouldn't want to offend the Jets or the Giants.

Anyone from the NYC/metro area going can PM me and I'll chatter with Kenny on setting up meet points for the caravan down to PA.

Something like: LI can pick up Queens & Bklyn, then grab Mhtn & Bx as they cross the GWB.
I'll pull Westchester etc down the palisades and we can meet the Northern NJ folks in Ft Lee or the Vince Lombardi service area, then roll out from there.
