I had mine done at Infiniti of Escondido $140 and I'm happy.

Personally I found the old programming to be too aggressive, it would hold the gear too awkwardly while coasting. Sometimes the transmission would hold third way too long and I would only use DS mode when doing a quick sprint.

With the new programming I can actually drive in DS mode all the time and it's fine, it's still far better than D mode but it no longer holds the gears awkwardly and it seemed to cut down on some of the lag. If you like your G to be at 3500rpm+ while coasting at 40mph then don't do the upgrade... I didn't like that personally, if I want to do that I will use the paddles...

Just had mine done at Infiniti of coconut creek, I feel like the tranny got an exsircism preformed on it. It's a lot smoother now.

They said they did mine but always seems like its holding a gear to long and cant get it to shift down. Either i get a bog when I get on it or holds the gear to long.

Sorry to bump an older thread but I just purchased a 2011 Gxs coupe with the 7AT. I have no complaints about the transmission except for the large increase in rpm's when in DS mode under breaking to a stop. I do not know if this TSB has been applied to my car or not but I am guessing it hasn't been. I have an appointment at the dealer this weekend and am thinking about asking about this TSB.

How much does this TSB help with the surge in rpm's in DS mode when braking to a stop? If it gets rid of it; I may just have the TSB applied.

Thanks!

That's not an issue, it's called Rev matching
Perfectly normal, and it's spikes especially high the quicker you decelerate
So when you come out of a sudden deceleration you have the RPM there help you accelerate faster

The TSB was geared more towards making the shifts quicker in the manual mode.

Just got a '12 x coupe. Seems to have the gear searching problem. Which update do I need to ask the dealer for?

I called the dealer and they said the trans is adaptive to driving habits. That sounds like a stupid idea to me. The previous owner must have driven harder than me cuz it acts like it's expecting me to use more throttle in a certain gear and that's why it isn't upshifting when it should. But he said to call back if it doesn't change in a few weeks. He didn't say anything about no updates available. We will see I guess

Have you tried rebooting it?

Did they ask you if you wanted it? Personally i like the tranny in my 13. My 2010 was a different story. I hated it and it was updated too!!
