ITB12-027 7AT Fix
Applies to 2010-11 G37s with 7AT. It just became available May 15, 2012. They might expand it to 2009, but they haven't yet.
This update is great - had mine done 200 miles ago. Really improves the transmission a lot. Throttle is much more responsive. Low end torque feels improved. Acceleration lags are gone/reduced. Coasting is much more smooth (much less engine braking). There's a big thread about it on the Sedan board.
The update is free while you are still under the new-car warranty. It might even extend as far as the powertrain warranty which is longer. There's no way for the owner of the car to see if it was done already.
This is not a "recall", so after the warranty is up, they are not required to do it for free.
Just tell your dealer you observed one of more of the following:
1. Harsh Downshifts when coasting to a stop;
2. Hesitation/lag when accelerating after coasting;
3. Hesitation/lag when accelerating out of a rolling stop;
4. Engine rev matching during moderate to heavy braking.

Called the dealer today to make an appointment to have this done. I was told that some ECM wasn't able to be reprogrammed and had to be completely replaced? HUH wth...Can you please shine some light on this. Thanks.

Post this in the Sedan thread on this fix. It's 100 pages long. People are getting it done right and left. Maybe someone there has had the same experience as you.

Sometime last year I complained to the dealer that my transmission was shifting poorly so he checked and found out there was a transmission module program update available so he did it and it drove 100% better. I have a 2009 S coupe.

Dropped the car off this morning at Infiniti San Francisco, for an oil change and ITB10-075 and ITB12-027. Specifically told them that I can replicate rough 2->1 shift, RPMs going up by ~200 when 4->5, and hesitation when accelerating after coasting. This should cover both TSBs. The advisor said they'll update the TCM if necessary - hopefully they consider it necessary.
