Have the same issue.. been going on for awhile now on an '08 G37S.. squeaks like crazy in reverse. When I brought it into the dealer they cleaned out the pads for brake dust; that cured it for a few days, but the squeak remains.

So is it the pad, or the rotor? Maybe getting some slotted, or drilled, rotors will solve the problem?

Dealers will do any of the following:
1.Resurfaced your rotors or replaced.
2.Replace brake pads depends on how much left.
3. Clean out the brake dust from pads and you're done
4. Denied work, saying is normal
all i mentioned above varies depending on dealer.

it's not your shoe pads

it's the e-brake... they have to remove the entire assembly and inspect the e-brake. infiniti had the same problem with the FX. I figured this out after ripping the damn thing apart after being told the same thing. essentially the pad wears funny, and brake dust accumulates. they'll have to replace and clean.

I had my front brakes services twice by the dealer. Initially they said squeak when reversing was normal. But when in for maintenance at 12K miles, Tech said noise was very loud in service bay so they cut rotors and replaced pads. Squeak return shortly thereafter. At 27K complained but serviced noted it was normal and no TSB. Another time in for service at 44K miles tech noted front rotors causing brake pulsation and heat spots on rotors. Repair stated "replaced pads, back plates and cut rotors per TSB." Noise never returned and now at 57K miles. (2008 G37S)

there is no ITB for the reverse break squeak. To be honest, your service technician/engineer needs to be good at his job to get it fixed.

the front rotors, limited to the journey non-sport, has an ITB for prematurely warped rotors. BUT that only applies for the vehicles within 12months /12k

lol you got lucky, the 08 SPORT doesn't qualify for this ITB, unless the technician sites the same symptoms.

I have a little squeak coming from what sounds like my right front rotor when I just start off, obviously w/o the brakes applied. At first I thought it was only on cold starts and the pad just get stuck to the rotor, but I've noticed it after driving it for a bit too.

I have an '11 sport though, so I'm not sure where or how I fit into this...

I'm not too worried about it and I usually don't even remember it until I randomly here it when I'm taking off from a quiet neighborhood, but just wanted to get an opinion on it.

Thank you for all of the info that I can take to the dealership. I have 30k miles on my '09 and took it to the dealership for horribly squealing breaks at my last oil change and they told me that the noise in normal and my breaks are fine. I am a realtor and my clients look at me out of the corner of the eyes when the breaks go to town. It is so embarrassing. My husband tells me that it is the sound of Infiniti! HAA I have a couple of other noises going on in the car now and with the breaks, I am about to drive it off a cliff.

ive tried numerous TSB and i still have constant squealing under medium braking. happens every day every time. Dealer also says this is normal. "all brakes squeal" my brakes did not qualify for this particular TSB because apparently my pistons on the calipers are different. Im due for new pads soon and im hoping by going aftermarket, ill get rid of the squeal.
