The bluetooth music stream (A2DP) is really nice in the new M's. Its just that phone calls don't work very well. I can hear about 70% of the incoming audio, and I'm assuming the same goes for outgoing. People always say "I can't hear you.... you're breaking up." Not sure why it can stream quality music just fine, but not handle a phone call... but I'm sure there is an easy fix out there. The problem is getting either apple or Infiniti (or both) to admit that there is a problem. And that's not going to happen anytime soon.

gatchek, me too!! I have a 2013 M37X with Navi and use an iPhone 5C (company phone). I noticed this lately (not sure this occurred as frequently after upgrading to 7.1.1 Apple operating system), but on certain calls, I can't be heard, I hear the other party, but they hear silence. I'll have to check to see if it's concentrated when I make the outgoing call or if it occurs in all calls. It's Intermittent.... some calls are OK others the caller can't hear me. My Dealer just applied a software upgrade to the BlueTooth [TSB ITB12-063D). I haven't tested the calling system, but the VoiceRecognition SUX with this system. Wasn't any better on my 2010 G37X either. At my firm, I have opportunity to drive other cars: Ford Taurus with Synch. That system seems to work better in both ways: Voice Recognition of commands (not perfect but better) and callers do hear me. I have T-Mobile Cell phone service (again company based - they just switched from AT&T for cost savings. Reception in certain areas is worse).

I'll try to post after doing some testing of the new "upgraded" BT software.

I asked if they could update the Bluetooth software on mine too, and they said they would only update it if there was a problem. So I said.. "YEAH, there is a problem, people say I cut in and out". However, since my iPhone 5S isn't on their "supported devices" list, they won't admit that its a problem. So... unless I was having the same issue with one of the phones on the list... THEN they would apply the upgrade. I understand that they won't bother supporting phones that aren't on the list, but its a software upgrade... it probably takes 15 mins at max. Don't be so damn lazy. I think they gave me the option to "buy" the update if I really wanted it. But they wouldn't provide it for free because of the whole iphone 5S thing. So, please let me know if your update helps. Is there a way to see which BT software version you have? Is that in the Diagnostic section of the nav?

I have an LG-E970, at first, I had a problem and couldn't install and took it to the dealership and they told me, it was not compatible and they couldn't do anything about it. I went back home and played with it for about 25-45 minutes and got it to working. Calls are crystal clear, forgot about using my BT for music but when I get back to the States, I will do that and keep you all posted

gatchek, I am picking my car up at dealer today. I had it back in for a varying Brake pressure (feel) again. I didn't have an opportunity to check out the updtaed software performance of the BT. I do see on the Work Order that Pepe Infiniti (the world's sales and service Infiniti Leader) replaced the BT microphone too. Pepe has been great to me on this the 3rd Infiniti that I have leased. The current 2013 M37X was NOT leased thru them, but rather from a competing Dealer in Greenwich CT. When I call them for any service, I get an immediate appointment and loaner provided everytime, if desired.

I'll post after i get a chance to test out the BT performance by making a number pf phone calls. BTW, they too told me that the iPhone 5 does have problems with Infiniti, particularly with the upgraded operating systems. At first, if I recall, the phone worked OK until I upgraded to 7.1. or is it 7.1.1?....Then the ability to be heard on the calls started.

Here is a followup to the BT problems with the car. The dealer applied a TSB ITB012-063 (?) which indicates that it is transmission problem. No sound heard by the called party or poor sound quality ("sounds like you are in a Tunnel"....). The dealer installed a new Mic and applied an update to the BT software.
After using it now for 6 weeks, it seems to be the same. The Service rep went through the diagnostics with me on Thursday of this week - including relearning of voice commands - that seems to have made it worse. There is a setting on the settings screen for outgoing calls volume. he insisted it should be at 2 . I increased it to 5 - my wife says she heard me better on the last call. Then I made another call - To the Dealer !!! - they couldn't hear me....

On Monday I'm bring the car to the sales dealer (Greenwich Infiniti) who will again check out the BT only!! Whatever that means. They scolded me for bring the car to their competitor (Pepe Infiniti in White Plains....world's largest Infiniti Dealer according to them). Another characteristic of the problem is when using the Voice Command switch to access Phone, Navi, etc. it shows "processing" for many seconds. Many commands are misinterpreted i.e.: What State Please....I say New York, it comes up Oregon !!... I think the problem is a combo one: bad Microphone and software glitches. I drive a Ford Taurus for work sometimes which has the Microsoft Synch system. That performs much better & responsive.

I'll post after Greenwich examines the problem.

Thanks for the update. I picked up the iPhone 6 last week. Honestly, I haven't had a chance to test it out. I rarely call anyone in my car, but when I do... I expect it to work properly. I have a bad feeling that its going to perform the same way as the 5S.... crapily. Although I firmly believe that its not the phone's fault... its the car. I look forward to hearing what Greenwich has to say. I'll be in Orange, CT this upcoming weekend, so if you figure out a problem, I might swing on by there and drop your name.

I'm really surprised that they are helping you since you have an "unsupported phone." Thats pretty much what they told me.... since the iphone 5S wasn't on their "supported phones list," they weren't going to attempt to help me. I wonder if they have an old antiquated 1990s phone that they have on their approved list to test with.

I'll post my tests with my iPhone 6, and let everyone know how it works.... but don't get your hopes up.

So, if anyone cares, the iPhone 6 is no different than the the iPhone 5, when it comes to call quality. Both incoming and outgoing call quality is choppy. I'm still not convinced that it is the phone's problem... but only Infiniti can tell us at this point.

UPDATE: iPhone 6 with iOS 8.1... STILL SUCKS FOR PHONE CALLS!! Big surprise right? Same issue as always, choppy calls on both ends. Although I was testing it with my wife, and she said that it sounded like I was "shouting" into the phone. While I think this is a Bluetooth issue, it may be a microphone/ volume issue. I would urge people to try and talk quietly while on phone calls to see if this helps. I'm wondering if the microphone is being overloaded. Not sure.... but its worth a try... waiting for Infitini to update their outdated software sure isn't going to happen... so we have to try something.

That being said, my buddy who has a 2014 Jeep said that he just downloaded ECU updates to his car from the internet.... just typed in his vin at the Jeep website, and saved it on a thumb drive, and then inserted it into his car. Easy as that!! Come on Infiniti, get with the program!!

gatchek, I forgot to update my comments from months ago. If you review my post of last year (WOW) !!, after complaining about not being heard and sounding like in tunnel, I brought the car back to my original dealer. After taking a ride with the Tech, and after he opened the area where the Mic is located in the roof, low and behold, the Mic was turned around and installed in correctly. That Solved the Sound problem. Choppy phone calls may be another matter. Compared to some of the company cars that I drive (all Fords with Synch), the BT for phone calls seems to operate better. I have a iPhone 5s with 8.02 operating system.
