Black G37s - I-5N from Castaic to 99N
Hey, you on this forum??
I was in the Volvo S70 T5 (5spd MT) that ran with you for a good chunk of miles up the 5 today. Most people have no idea what this car is so here is some info: 240hp/240tq high pressure turbo (stock), perf mods: drop, f/r sways, k&n, ss mandrel bent catback exhaust. not a lot done to it at the moment. It's an old car and currently my DD/beater. It's had a dump pipe and ECU in it before that upped it to ~285hp/270tq but I need to do a stage zero service before I start running more boost again.
G had: drop, maybe rims (was moving so I couldn't tell for sure but looked like it had a polished lip), shaved rear except for emblem, roof spoiler, exhaust (?), Oregon vanity plate..."FE..IR"
Car looked good. Are you MT?
I am currently in the market for a summer car, and the G37s is/was on my list. I need to test drive one still, but I think I got an idea of the type of power it has at higher speeds today. I would assume the G should be quicker than my T5 off a dig because my snail takes a second to spool up (turbo lag). The car looks great, for sure. But perhaps it's geared more toward the luxury side than sport? With a 40 large pricetag, I would think the typical buyer expects plenty of luxury.
Other cars on my list include the S2000, 370z, and 335i coupe. I really dislike bmw badge snobbery, though, and can't really picture myself in one. My gf drives a 2006 325i...but i'm just not about badge power. I drive a fkn volvo for god's sake lol. I also am looking for an N/A car that I can build into FI myself. 135i didn't make my list because it looks like a pot-bellied pig. Leaning towards the s2000 at this point--I like that it's somewhat scarce on the roads, that it's very lightweight, great handling characteristics (esp after the drop, sways, etc I plan on getting). The 370z is also a very nice car, but the design of it may be a bit ostentatious for my taste (MY taste). Open to thoughts about this from you all
If any of you know this fellow, please give him a shout. Maybe he posts on the NW regional forum, though.
For those who are curious, this is what my Volvo looks like:
