One thing I like is that you created a thread and poked fun at yourself a bit. I found it humorous so I decided to go through your posts and try to lend a hand where I could. You never demanded we care or look to reply but simply stated that you are a thread-ender and people jumped down your throat, except BB.

BB is not a little bitch, he dishes it out in some posts and takes it just as well. He offered his help and was plain outright straightforward in saying he wasn't interested in searching through all your posts, can't blame him there. Maybe it sounded condescending to you but I think it was jut honest. If you were serious about getting your questions answered you could have replied much differently and quoted all the questions you wanted answered, but I must admit your response made me laugh as well.

Can't we all just get along?

Since you don't like your posts going unanswered I will just post. This forum over the years I have been here has been very informative and finding information, although you have to work for it, by searching does in fact work. I never mind newbie questions though but your attitude is not the greatest. I am on a LOT of forums and this one is tame compared to most others...................

Maybe one of the problems is the search function.

I have recently asked a question about lowering a G where GoFightNguyen was more than helpful. At then end he had mentioned the search feature. Before I ask any question, I search for it first, but, after going through numerous pages, through vendors that have the same key words, through threads that may have the same word somewhere in it, but not in the title or applicable to my search, after reading threads I think might have the answer and still not finding the answer I will start a new thread. This does not mean the questions haven't been asked before, but sometimes the answers aren't the easiest to find. Of course, maybe there is a better way to search.

As far as this thread goes, I understand both sides. Personally, when I start a new thread, I subscribe to it with instant email alerts and patiently wait for answers. Usually I get fast responses, but understand people have jobs, family's, prior obligations...basically life's and can't be on here all the time...like myself...with apparently no life but my car...now that I think about it...damn...anyways.

This forum has been more than helpful and don't know what I would have done without it and all of my questions, wanting to double check things and what not. I understand pointing out the search function, there are only a select few on here with a vast knowledge that they are more than willing to share and help others and it must get tiring when you're answering the same questions over and over, so I would do the same thing....and...maybe be condescending at times (not saying you are BB, just saying in general, please still help me).

BB has helped me so much and if you have ever had me ask you a question in a PM you know I double check things and will ask the same question 2-3 different ways just to make sure. And everyone has been more than helpful and taken the time to make sure I understand and feel comfortable with whatever I'm asking about, share links, pictures, experiences and advice.

If you search and can't find the answer, even though it doesn't mean the answer isn't there, start a new thread, IMO, worst that could happen, someone says search, you said you did, they send you a link, maybe they answer the question. Be patient waiting for answers, this isn't anyone's full time job, to my understanding, and understand this is a place for help, share ideas, opinions and experiences, but be patient and use your resources.

This is all, just my opinion

I agree with Tazicon very cordial here. And we were all newbies at one point, but I know a lot of us lurked on the site for a long time just reading old threads and learning as much as we can about stuff. I know I did, not here to say who's wrong or right here but the effort made can be made in other areas and would yield better results.

A large part of the problem is that people aren't using the *advanced* search feature.

The search bar is, admittedly, not the best. However, when I search, I go to advanced search, I narrow down the sub forum I want to search, and have it search *posts* instead of *threads*

Searching (for me at least) means more than typing one key word into the search bar, skimming the first page of results to see if it's in the title, then claiming you can't find anything.

TL;DR

We need to go deeper.

Should be on the top toolbar. Rollover the "Search" menu, and click "advanced search".

Only works on a browser, not with a forum runner app.

I think you should just have your cell phone number in your signature so people can just text you to get an immediate answer to their question.

MyG37 help line anyone?

RYNE you are trying to be helpful after calling me a "leech". cant say I understand that. this whole thread didn't start out serious, it was just an observation I noticed. yes I like to post on old thread because it already has relevance. when I try to make my own thread I am asked to search, trust me I really try. i think everybody can be a little nicer, but what ever.
Yeah, coming into this thread that appeared to be asking for help and seeing you tell BB to "take the search bar and stuff it" kind of got to me, so I apologize for calling you a leech. Just be mindful when you are cruising the threads and if you can add something valuable to help people, take the time to type it, as you do with your questions.

This is a community, so yes, I am going to try and help you out. Sometimes it helps to search posts instead of threads. Also, I will occasionally search using Google. You can do this by typing something such as "akebono calipers site:www.myg37.com". Basically, whatever you are trying to search with "site:www.myg37.com" added to the end to only search this forum.

This forum has been active for many years, so there are very few topics that have not been discussed, some more than others. If you feel you have a question that has been asked before but don't have all the information you need, show people you did research and they will be more receptive.

Yes, I agree. The old car forum I was on had a special section in OT where they would move threads that asked "dumb" questions and it was a free for all flame fest. Also, arguing with the staff was a one was ticket to permaban.

Search, just take time and search. Sometimes you cannot find exactly what you need but you can always PM members in threads with distinct questions. Not sure if I'm adding to a trolling post or not but this is my 2 cents...

Another suggestion is to buy a premium membership and make your title "THE THREAD ENDER". Everyone will answer just to prove you wrong, its a win-win.
