Question I can’t quite figure this out……

I access MyG37.com from one of two computers; my home desktop or my laptop. They both run Windows7. The forum settings on both computers are one and the same. After reading a new post on the laptop the blue post icon on the left will turn grey and the title’s text will turn from a bold to regular, as in the “No new posts” icon. As I’m sure with most of us, this makes it easier to spot the next unread new post as I go through them.

The problem is that this never happens on the desktop. The icon remains blue with bold text. The only time it will turn grey is when I have opened a link or read a thumbnail within the thread. And it doesn’t even do this every time. I’ve looked for a unnoticed setting of some sort but have found none. I’ve tried logging out and back in, waiting for ten seconds or more before closing a thread, and some other things with no success.

It’s no big deal of course, but I’m wondering if this happens to all of us, or if not, if there’s a solution.

If you're using IE7/8, try clearing your cache, deleting cookies and restarting your browser (close all windows and re-open). That should do that trick.. If you're using a different browser similar steps should result in correcting this issue! Not likely anything to do on 'our' side.

Thanks, but after I took your suggestion there was still no change. I'll keep looking for an answer, however, as it's an interesting problem.

I’m still trying to find out why my desktop threads are not greyed after being read. I cleared out the cache temp files and cookies, and all the MyG37 and IE8 parameters on the laptop and desktop are exactly the same but still only the laptop properly shows threads as being read. But I did discover that all my desktop read threads will be properly marked if I hit the New Posts button a second time. Does that indicate anything to any expert around here?
