I'm happy with my Basis but really wish I would have spent the extra $300 or so and got the Flex with dampening adjustments.
Are you referring to the Flex Z? I wonder if they ride decently. I had a set of the Street Flex (I think) and they rode like garbage on the street. They were great on the track, but the dampening adjustments should have just been labelled- "lose some fillings" to "shatter your spine" for the street. You felt like you were riding a pogo stick on smooth roads.

I had the Flex Z and they were on the soft side. These are very comfortable street coilovers. My previous BC coilovers were much stiffer with the same spring rates.

That's good news. How did they ride compared to stock? Did they handle well in corners when you dialed up the dampening- ie. do you think they would be good on track?

It's really hard to compare it to stock because I've had 4 different suspension setups. But comparing to Airlift, Eibach Springs w/ OEM struts, BC Coilovers, they were the most comfortable.
I never tracked the car but would drive it aggressively here and there. I feel like I had a little bit more body roll opposed to the BC's. The BC's made the car feel really planted. I was roughly at the same ride height on both coilovers. Another factor to think about is I had the Tein coilovers set below than what Tein suggests. I assume you are not going to slam the car like I did. The dampening setting didn't feel like that much of a difference when adjusting through the clicks. It felt maybe like 3-4 actual clicks where you could tell a difference in dampening.
I've noticed the dampening adjustments on most real coilovers don't seem to change the ride that much. From Tein, JIC, Helix, etc.
My Koni inserts did change quite a bit with the dampening adjustments though. Those rode really nice on the street and they were decent on the track too. Thankfully, they had a lifetime warranty as they were not as durable on the track. They were the only suspension I had that blew out one insert on track.
I am racking my brain trying to figure out which coilovers to get. I like the Flex Z... the shock dyno looks OK for the price:
though I would like more digression on the compression side. And EFDC compatibility is cool. I know some folks like to set it and forget it but I do know shocks behave differently as ambient temperatures change. Another key feature of the Flex Z is the separate preload and ride height adjustability. In theory that ensures no change in suspension response vs ride height.
My only gripe with the Flex Zs is the spring rates out of the box are a bit extreme. 12K/10K? Tein says you can go up or down 2K, which is good. I'd probably go down to 10/8 or even 10/10. Only issue is getting the dimensions of the rear spring, but I think 10K in the back may be livable... especially if I get a sub. But for the price they look really solid, and Tein's reputation is very good.

I think those are the settings I started with too. I adjusted it a few times after that. Everyone does.

Ive had the tein basis about a month - not bad for 500$ can be bouncy if the road is not flat
- occasional bottom out here & there
- over speed bumps squishy/squeaky noise from front
Went with 19 inch cheapums wheels as opposed to 20's for comfort though. As far as the teins i was in the same position couple months ago and researched relentlessly before I pulled the trigger. I think it fits exactly what I was looking for, mostly height adjustment with comfortable ride qaulity and decent price. Of course I still was in denial about the infamous "rides like stock" line. But this one actually fits the bill. Am at 26 3/8 ground to fender height all around and clear all bumps no scraping so just about right. I experimented with many heights and that one seemed to be just perfect trade off between looks and drivability; and it still is very comfortable could not tell the difference other than feeling better planted and as others have said a little wavyness/bounciness on certain types of pavements. Definitely happy with the choice.
