On Sunday I went to Road America and did a touring event just to make sure that temps were not an issue with the oil cooler like they were with my '11 370Z. So far so good so I think I will be ok to do track days there.
Got to see some pretty cool machines while I was there too...
^ I just bought it from someone else and it's been sitting for 12+ years. we are really close to getting it running though. rebuild carbs, new fuel tank (old one rusted) new lines, rebuild starter, etc.
That's good news. Did you have any other suspension mods or track the car at all?
It was dropped about 2.5" on coils and had f&r camber kit and toe bolts. But no, never really tracked it, she was a big girl lol. She did have some fun in the rain on occasion though.

Well, that is good news. The track I was at may have been the final straw for my end links. It is very technical and even boiled my power steering fluid to the point that it leaked all over
I changed my oil today and thought I would take a quick side by side pic of the original oil filter vs. what you use with the Stillen oil cooler. Quite a difference in size. If you plan to get an oil cooler, plan ahead as not many places carry this size. I think the last car it was used on was the '92 Eclipse.
If you have an aluminum undertray with an access panel like I do for oil changes, be very glad the filter is turned sideways so you can loosen it and drain the oil before removing it completely. It is a tight fit and if the filter were positioned upside down like my Subarus, there would have been a lot of swearing involved due to all the hot oil running down my hand.
Another plus is that you will only drain out just shy of 5 quarts of oil so lots of 5qt oil specials (Advance Auto Parts) will work just fine. Stillen told me all 6 quarts should drain out- so bad info. from them again.
Is the diameter of the Stillen CBE 2.5" How do you like the sound with the HFC?
I thought it was 2.5 or 3, but I do not see it listed on their website. Give them a call and ask for the sales department. They seem to know what is going on compared to their tech support which is completely useless.
I really like the sound of the exhaust. The HFC's have introduced a quick rasp if you accelerate slowly past 3k rpms, but that is about it. Still sounds awesome at just about any rpm especially toward the top of the rev range.
The last time I was on track it sounded awesome. I especially liked the fact that I could hear it through my helmet so I never missed a shift. The exhaust on my '14 Evo was too quiet and I would hit the rev limiter every so often.
Why? Are you at a point where 2.25 is going to hold back power? Call Tony from fast intentions and ask him why he suggests 2.25 for sedans.

.
So, I called sales with the same question . He did not know, their tech did not know. He said he can get back to me in several business days to measure the system personally. Both of them sounded less than enthusiastic to help me.

I measured the piping and it's 2.25.
Man what is up with Stillen? 5 years ago they were on point and knew everything. Now you call them and you get monkeys on the phone.

I have the Berks HFC and they're 2.5in. I don't want it going from 2.5in to 2.25in as that usually introduces some rasp, unless it's tapered down.
Are the Z1 HFC 2.5in? Would love to hear am exhaust clip.
Debating whether I want to upgrade to the Stillen CBE or Ark exhaust next year.
