Whenever I see suspicious individuals I'll come back out a few minutes later and pretend to be calling on my phone while looking in their direction. If I still get a bad vibe I'll let someone inside know, happened on a few occasions throughout the years. If they know you're aware of them they'll usually go elsewhere, unless it's personal.
I wasn't concerned at the time.
My thought was that they were "fellow" car enthusiast who was just admiring my ride...unfortunately that wasn't the case.
Good advice though...thanks!
It takes a LARGE (and I mean LARGE) amount of force to lift the hood like you describe, and definitely enough to leave a noticeable dent on fender or headlight damage/scratches from pressure. Like previously described, a lever would be needed to pry it open from an edge. The fulcrum point would be on your fender or headlight. Simple physics. There's no other way to do the way you're describing the damage unless the hood just wasn't shut properly before. The hood has to be secure or else on the highways the hood would dangerously lift up. Again, it requires A GREAT DEAL OF FORCE to lift your hood while it is latched, and certainly BIG ENOUGH to cause a DENT in your thin fender.
Plus, if you can take pictures it would greatly help. Honestly, if you see absolutely NO DAMAGE and your hood wasn't closed properly, well then it wasn't thieves trying to pop open your hood. They're not likely going to leave your car in "pristine" condition like you describe. You can think what you want, but there really isn't ANY evidence of foul play, except your hood is not flush with fender, but no damage underneath or elsewhere you can find.
And again, the likelihood of someone owning an Acura TL or Audi A4 trying to steal minimal items from an Infiniti is pretty sad. Their cars are more expensive than yours. You don't have to be paranoid. The Gateway Center is a pretty safe place, with ample security. Everett is not a high crime area.

Do you have any proof other than your speculation? Just because there was some modded cars parked near you? What are they going to steal on a stock g37? Your FTSB? I just don't see it happening..especially since g37's are everywhere. What if the Acura/Audi was parked far away from everywhere else the same reason you were parked far away?

At this point, I would just like to advise some caution to where you park in public places...
