A couple of low lives tried to break into/vandalize my G37xS last night while my family & I was having dinner.
Parked parallel to restaurant's front door near the end of the lane away from other cars.
There was a parking lamp about 2 spaces over.
Across from me was 2 modified cars...Acura TL & Audi A4.
Both were parked next to each other without any other car beside them.
The white Acura's driver & front passenger was sitting in the vehicle.
The silver Audi was empty.
As I headed towards the restaurant, I glance over and noticed that they were watching us...knowing that my G37xS has got their attention.
I didn't think too much of it...I was hungry!
Fast forward to this morning...
My wife goes to drop my daughter off to school and noticed the front driver's side hood wasn't aligned correctly...it was raised and pulled apart from the seam about a 1/2".
This is where the front bumper meets with the hood...right above the headlight.
She tells me that she carefully forced it back down and it snapped back in place.
This was told to me after she got back.
I go outside to inspect the damage and to see if there was any additional damage done...popped the hood and lucky nothing out of the ordinary!
The rubber surround that goes in between the hood is a bit loose, but other than that, all's fine.
Rant over......
Just be careful when going out and parking in public places.
I was lucky that they were idiots and probably didn't know what they were doing, so no harm done.

Yet another reason to not go to Texas Roadhouse
I grilled up some bone-in filets I got at the local butcher last night. My wife said it was the best steak she ever had, my car was safe in the garage, and I didn't have to worry about driving after a few Maker's Marks and Coke
But seriously, sucks about your car. Hopefully the vandals trip and break an ankle.

Sorry to hear that, you take such great care of your car, always those that have no appreciation for the hard work that it takes to own nicer things
Hopefully it's not something that occurs on a regular basis in that parking lot. Texas Roadhouse is a pretty conscientious business in most of the dealings I've had w/ them. I've had 3 different vehicles keyed in this lowly part of NM, so I feel your frustration

I worked in Everett for 10 years! No surprise, there are definitely good people in Everett, but there are definitely some scum in Everett and surrounding areas.
Happy you mentioned this, I will make sure not to bring my G there, but sorry it happened to ya.
I would let the roadhouse know, maybe they have cameras or maybe if enough people come forward when these things happen, they will get cameras

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. No doubt in my mind they were trying to get some things off the front of your car. I've seen a handful of pre-2010 G sedans driving around with different colored 2010+ front ends on them. I respect the owners who did theirs legit. But a-holes like the ones who tried to get you deserve to be shot by a pissed off owner who's not about to let their baby get abused by a stranger. I guess if anyone lives in a high theft/vandalism area, some extra security measures could be adding hood and trunk pins and a shock sensor for the alarm. Also if you have a front lower chin spoiler/lip, you can rivet it to the bumper. Maybe even adjust/tighten the hood to remove any gap so nobody can stick a hand or small tool in there to remove clips or pop the hood open. Wheel locks, door handle keyhole delete, park in a well lit area or in view of a security camera (valet?). The sad thing is you can do all that and still come out to see your car stripped & sitting on bricks just where you parked it. SMH
I'm a noob when it comes to this, but what could they possibly steal from your hood that's valuable in an hour's time with limited hand tools? It would be easier and faster to unlock the door using a thin wire and popping the hood that way or even steal the valuables inside your car. Also, if they wanted to steal from your car, they wouldn't care about damaging your car. They wouldn't be trying to do this carefully, but rather keying/drilling holes/ prying open the window trim etc. I got a loaner from Infiniti of Norwood with damage to the door window trim chrome piece that was CLEARLY someone trying to break into and I reported it to them. They didn't even notice until I brought it to their attention before I drove it off their lot.
I mean it would be noticeable to a public place that has a lot of foot traffic, especially in an open mall there? Also, would owners of an Acura TL actually be trying to break into cars, let alone hoods? What could they steal even if they pop open the hood? Used fluids? Radiator cap? Oil cap? Used car battery? The only thing I can think of is the Infiniti emblem on your grille, but even that is impossible with the radiator cover still on.
I go to Costco there regularly and haven't seen anything like this, and there are always a lot of Everett police hanging around Target/Costco.
Everett is NOT a high crime area. I would attribute that to Dorchester/ Charlestown area.
You may have to entertain the possibility that the situation could have happened elsewhere besides Everett Gateway Center Plaza.

Even my wife who doesn't really pay attention to these type of things noticed it after we left Texas Roadhouse the next morning.
We went straight home from Texas Roadhouse and there is no way that it could have happened in between leaving the restaurant to our house.
Crime is EVERYWHERE!
Hate to bust your bubble, but it happened there and I'm "very" positive that the driver's of those 2 cars were the culprits!

At a restaurant, there are many people walking about. I'm sure someone would've spotted them trying to pop open your hood, especially if you parked right in the front of the restaurant.
In any case, if they were trying to vandalize your car, they would just key it. It would be far easier to do that then to try to pry open the hood from the side?
And if one side is popped out, they probably used some kind of levering tool against a fulcrum/point of impact. I would expect to see a dent on your fender from them trying to pull the hood up with a tool from the side. No human finger can fit in the gap between hood and fender, so they must have used a thin screwdriver to prop up the hood from side. Check for dents on your fender.

Me: pookie, anything you want to tell me?
Her: nope
Me: nothing happened to the MDX?
Her: oh, yeah, I hit a tree in the driveway, but its ok. No damage.
Me: cool. You didnt notice the tail light embedded in the tree and shattered all over the grass.

I agree with you, but there are too many foot traffic around there for heavy crime to occur, especially when it involves popping the hood.

It was a late Sunday night and majority of the shops there was closed already.
The row I parked was in front of the restaurant, but further down where there was less cars...I usually try to park away from everyone else, so I don't get dinged.
The Acura & Audi was parked the same way, but on the next row over facing me (I back into my spots)...no cars on either side.
They probably did it as soon as they waited for me to enter the restaurant.
Not sure what they were after, but they disrespected me & my property!

It's as much her car as it's mine...
Anyways, my daughter would have "blabbed" to me the truth if it ever did happen.
