I have illegal tint on all three of my cars, with VA tags. My Explorer is the worst culprit, with 20% all around.

You get into a lot of trouble with that?

I'm thinking of 35 all around. 20 is too much imo.

I have 35 on my sides and 15 on my rear. Cops don't even look at me. I see cars with darker and they drive right past cops...I feel like the only time your gonna get trouble for it is if you get caught doing something else.

35% all around should be alright, I had that on my last car and never had any issues. Back when I was younger and didn't know any better (19) I had 20% all around on my '99 Civic coupe and received 3 tickets.

That should look perfect... I have 15mm all around and Im very satisfied... although a 20mm on the rear should look good.

Its actually very common practice, at least in MD where they are "tint ****'s". They may call it a "warranty" but basically its just an insurance policy, and its very common. Where I used to go in MD tint was like $75 and so sold you an extra warranty for $25 where if you got caught on it they would pull the dark and reapply 35% for free. It's not bad business, as far as I know you are insured against somebody stealing your car - that is illegal as well ;p

Got my tints installed. I really wish I could've done 20%, but that would definitely be a cop magnet. 35% isn't bad, but it is definitely a lot lighter than I had hoped. Still looks good though.

please excuse the crappy cell phone pics.

I went to TNT Tint, and the guy was legit. He did everything by hand and it turned out great. the Tint is right up to the edge.
