Shaking when braking

Hello 2013 g37 sedan shakes when I’m braking I’m so bad with cars so have no idea what’s going on just got new tires but looked under my car and see a significant amount of rust what could be causing my car to shake when at a light or just on break. My only vehicle and not much $$ please help on where to begin with this problem.

Shaking when stopped at a light? Could be worn out motor mounts, or the engine misfiring because of old plugs... IDK just spit-balling. But a rusty heat shield over your cats sure isn't it. And that cradle brace in your pic is a lot stronger than it looks, rust notwithstanding. Time to take your car to a trusted repair shop. If they come back at you with a laundry list of problems that blow out your budget, then work with them to prioritize repairs over time.

This feels like Dad Advice.

Thank you I have no idea I’m hoping it’s somthing minor yes only at a light when I press on brakes. Starts shaking when I put in park it doesn’t do it or just driving seems fine is this okay to drive on while the time being?

So the situation you're describing is the car shuddering when in gear and held to a stop by your foot on the brakes, like at a stoplight. But when in park, or normal driving, it's fine otherwise?

Old motor mounts is my best uneducated guess. But heck, it could be your transmission. Either way, you can probably keep driving the car, but you should get it looked at. This is too vague to get solid answers from a car forum.

Motor mount replacements are a few hundred for the parts, but probably 4+ hours of lift time.

Any type of shaking or shuddering while braking/ coming to a stop usually points to the brake pads/ rotors needing attention- typically the rotors being "warped." Depending on age / mileage / condition a brake job is probably needed.

Now if there is shaking while stopped then, as Rochester mentioned, could be the engine mounts are worn or something else entirely.

If the shaking began right after the installation of new tires, I'd go back to the tire shop and make sure they properly balanced the tires on the rims. You might also have them check the rotors while they're in there.

It only shakes at a complete stop at a light with foot on brake

The word is brake, not break. I changed your title, but the rest is up to you.

Please, for the love of god, the word is "brake".

Half the posts on the G37 Reddit sub say "break". Drives me nuts, but I try to use restraint in my responses.
