Hi It's Cindy new subscriber and desperately need help with my 2013 G37S.. so dealer will not ripped me off. They already charged me $200 for diagnostic which they told me can't do unless i buy $270 battery.
this is the 2nd time I have these problems during heavy rains. First time after the rain. It wouldn’t start, battery is weak, had tohave it jumped and then that key would work intermittently. Took to the mecahnic can't find anything but a week battery, cahnged that, drove it for 3-4 weeks

2nd time: after 2 days of heavy rain, it wouldn’t turn on (like battery low) then next day everything fine. A couple days later, it wouldn’t do anything and wouldn’t turn off either. Left alone overnight and it worked fine for a few weeks. Have my local trusted mechanic check nothing is wrong.

After another heavy southern cal rain last week, the parking lights were on. I had not been near the car in a, and the lights are turned to “off” and even strange only the parking lights are on. and will not turn off . Left overnight after a day and before calling for tow, It started and I drove it around the block a couple times and everything seems fine, turned the lights on and off, and parked it again. The left parking lights are STILL on, the following it went completely dead and I have it towed to the dealer. Now I have to pay the diagnostic fee of $200 and $270 battery for them to do the diagnostic.

Both key fobs have new batteries. I noticed the issues is after heavy rains. What could be the problem? Cant find water under the hood but there's a mild dew smell in the cabin, not sure maybe just getting wet from getting in and out the car.

 

Give a quick search on the forum regarding sunroof drainor cowl seal leaks and BCM or IPDM water damage. Sounds like this may be your issue.

 

That was exactly the issue due the heavy rain lately in Southern CA. Thank you, to say the least at least I will not get a run around.
