Could just pace yourself, wait for these tires to wear down and grab a new set with new wheels when the time comes 😊. Gives you time to find the perfect set, maybe even snag some awesome used forged wheels in the cheap. My friend just picked up a set of mint Volk gt30s for $900 usd. That's pretty crazy.

Assuming access to storage space, keep your 18" OEM wheels for as long as it takes to run down the tread on the current tires. At that moment, relegate the duckfeet to Winter duty with snow tires, and buy a new set of summer-only wheels and tires. Plan out that transition to coincide with Spring 2021 or '22. By then you'll have set aside the money and figured it all out. No pressure, plenty of time.

Take those wise words from Rochester, a man who drooled over his 2 piece rotors for a very long time. Patience and self control are strong with Rochester lol.

Definitely wise advice, especially since its a daily driver. Its nice to have safety in dedicated winter wheel/tire setup. Best advice is to take your time and don't skimp or settle on wheels. They really set the tone for your car, so IMO its best to get exactly what you want (within your budget of course). I know I spent months before I finally decided my wheels, but it was completely worth it, especially because I was able to get custom cut offsets so my wheels set exactly how I want (flush to fender) and I don't have to worry about needing spacers. Then you can get a nice set of sticky summer tires and you'll be able to maximize the benefit of your suspension mods.

Sadly I dont have garage space. And I move to different places to work as a contract software guy. So my best bet is to enjoy everything , all season tires offer for now. And yes, as far as the wheels go, I'd like to take my time on it so I wont have second thoughts on if I did the right thing.

Unhappy Help !! - need suggestions !!

So this new problem came up and i feel indecisive about it. Last Sunday, my car started sounding slightly louder towards the end of my 300 mile trip back to Pittsburgh. I brushed it off as maybe the engine is adapting to my driving style with the paddle shifters. It was only yesterday evening when i finally installed the GTR start button, I realized something. I pressed the red start button and she roared. Loud, deep and gurgly. Had me confused for a sec, but i knew something isn't right with my rusty old exhaust system. As I was losing sunlight, I decided to take a look at it today. Things were worse than what I thought it'd be. My exhaust was broken! Right after the heat shield in the X-pipe portion. I had a friend come over with his jack to get a better look and we found out that the stock X- pipe is 2 disconnected Y-pipes now. It doesn't look like a high temperature tape can solve this problem and the amount or rust around the broken part looks like it isn't going to be cheap trying to weld some pipe in its place. With the MD exhaust ETA still being somewhere late this month, I'm genuinely confused on how to deal with this. Though the car sounds really cool n all, I'm unable to come up with some temporary fix to hold the fort till the catback arrives. Suggestions would help greatly !

Also, I felt now would be a good time to invest in the RHFC, but one detail mentioned in FI's webpage has me a little confused. Someone tell me what this means for a daily driven car.
--> This product may not be legal for highway use on pollution controlled motor vehicles.
Tried looking this up but haven't found a clear answer.

Here's what I found today.

Research PA laws for exhausts and emmisions. For example: http://www.drivecleanpa.state.pa.us/changes/faq_non.pdf

The only thing that you'll need to worry about is whether or not you have a CEL. Generally speaking it seems that FI RHFCs are a solid choice that don't throw a CEL, however its always a possibility. If you have a CEL it won't pass our state emissions testing, which obviously would be a problem.... it's a calculated risk. Also there are some shops that may not want to do the install as they are hesitant to mess with the emission system installing anything that's not OEM. If you're installing yourself that's not a concern (although they're a giant pain to install so you'll probably develop other concerns.)

Just a heads up though, FI told me their lead time for RHFC right now is 12 to 15 weeks.

Wow. Covid? Or is covid behind increased sales? I wonder.

@Rochester / @hexotic , You're both right. Put in an order and also spoke to an Fi guy. Seems they have been dealing with a heavy surge of orders coming in since quarantine had started. My estimated shipping date is after Dec 4. Guess its the waiting game all over again !
