Emissions Sticker

Does anyone know where the emissions sticker is at on these cars? I'm looking at a car that was bought out of state and need to know if it can be registered in California.

OPen the hood, look at the leftmost bottom corner of the hood. I believe there is where you will find the emissions label.

Otherwise, here are the CA exceptions:

There are a few exemptions to the law. As a California resident, you may be able to register a 49-state vehicle if it was:

Obtained as part of a divorce, inheritance, or legal separation settlement.
Purchased to replace your California-registered vehicle that was stolen while you were using the vehicle out-of-state.
Purchased to replace your California-registered vehicle that was destroyed or made inoperative beyond reasonable repair while you were using the vehicle out of state.
An emergency vehicle, pursuant to California Vehicle Code § §27156.2 and 27156.3.
Registered by you in the state of your last active military service outside California.

I could not find it anywhere under the hood. Can I check using the VIN number?

It has been brought to my attention that depending on the year, the location of the emission certificate (because that is what that sticker is) is located. So... what year?

I checked the manual for 2008 and it shows the emission cert under the hood, right over the battery.

Thanks for the info but there is no sticker in that location. Is there any way to find out using the VIN number?
