Im planning on buying a 2012 g37xS. Has 34k on the odometer. I was wondering. What is the main diffrence between the xs and the S model besides the AWD? Im getting a great deal but when it comes to performance i want the best this car can pffer? I know the x doesnt come in manual, unfortunatly, but what else am i missing out on if i choose the xS over the S?
What exactly are you doing that you want "performance". Both are great car. Same freakin Engine. I got the 2012 xS sedan because northeast it snows in the winter time. Yea you lose bbk brakes and stiffer suspension but S doesn't have awd. It's a compromise with either model due to costs. Don't let that stop you from getting awd.

You didn't mention if it was an XS coupe or Sedan, the XS coupe gets the big Akebono brakes, the XS Sedan gets the small journey floating calipers
Oops, just saw a few posts down that it is indeed a coupe that you're dealing with, that is the better equipped of the two and also has 19" wheels vs. the Sedans 18s.

I have a '13xS coupe and really love it. AWD w/big brakes, paddle shift, upgraded sport seats, sport bumper, and probably some other little things I'm missing. The suspension as is rides quite nice however with a little modification its an amazing ride. The one thing most xS coupe owners will complain about is stock ride height but depending on your ability and budget you can upgrade to your taste. Hotchkis sway bars will tighten things up and springs or coilovers drop it down (plenty of threads on here about this).
Just as an FYI when it comes to the aftermarket for suspension options are less for the AWD than for RWD (especially shocks/struts) however there is still a nice array of setups to choose from.
Good luck...hope to see you a G owner soon.
