New G37 owner checking in

Just purchased a 2013 Journey sedan loaded. Came from a fully modded 2013 mazdaspeed3.

The mazda had a turbo upgrade, ported intake manifold, upgraded intercooler, 3" catless exhaust tuned on e85. Put down 358/406. Was a blast to drive. Makes me feel the urge to mod the G. Will start a build thread once I get going.

Welcome to the forum 4 and congratulations on the new G. Looks great and I can't edit to see what you have in store for your future build thread after what you've done with your previous car!

I am not going as all out on this car. I will definitely be doing some stuff however. Very interested in the FI route but that will be a while out. How do you like your hotchkis sways? I am leaning toward those but keeping stock springs. I hate how unstable this car feels at higher speeds. The mazda was glued to the road at 160mph and I want as close to that as possible with the G

Hotchkis = a TOTAL different ride from stock!

It gives you that glued to the ground feeling for sure. It's one of the first mods I like to recommend when it comes to suspension for sure. Worth every penny as well.

Nice intro, post some pics of your 3 if you'd like, sounds like a little rocket.
Enjoy your new ride and look forward to what you end up doing.

I ran evo wheels which are like 18lbs vs the oem 25lb wheels. Also allowed for 245 profile tire vs stock 225. Car was a blast. No engine bay pics as it looked almost stock. I am not one for the "hey look at me" styling a lot of people do. Drove that monster for 3 years no tickets and I am pretty positive it was due to the stock look. I also ran a stock muffler on that exhaust. Ruined many new mustang 5.0 drivers days haha

I seriously love the Mazda Speed3. I test drove one right before I purchased the G also. It is a friggin blast to drive ...it reminded me of my old SRT4. You are going to miss it...the G is more refined but I believe they are equal in speed quarter mile but that turbo neck whiplash you will not find in this car...

Oh I do and will miss the ms3. Stock turbo with just an intake and intercooler on a off the shelf tune got me 13.6 quarter with a sad 2.4 60 foot. When bone stock I pulled a 2.0 60 at 13.8. Keep in mind I am at sea level so power is much easier to make.

I got the g37 mainly because I drive 30k miles a year and therefore would like something auto and just nicer to drive.
