Noob here ! 1st mod : lowering+Vossen

Hello everyone, I'm Pan.
I have a 2013 black g37 sedan journey rwd

So far I've been reading and browsing this forum for 2 weeks, lots of useful info.
I have to thank blnewt, he's the best, asked him tons of questions , and he was most helpful. Also thank tonyhtx for his lowered stats.

First real mod ( so far stock with windows tinted at 30% all around ): set to install Stance coilovers this coming week , with front & rear camber kit. Chose stance for quality and 0 complaints for around $1k . Bagged with some Vossen vfs2 in satin bronze 20x9F & 20x 10.5R. Running with hankook v12 245/35/20 and 275/30/20. Might lower to 25.75" or 26" all around with fenders rolled.

Contacted Luke at thm motorsports for best prices on coilovers& camber kit. Discount tire direct for tires.
Other mod plans : covering aluminum trim and painting grill . Maybe intake & exhaust in a few months. Right now, I'm about to be broke.

So, I hAve the non sport brakes, and I want some red brake calipers. Is there a cheap option out there? Will these work ? Just want a pop of color .

Glad to hear your build is rolling right along. I would have to give a huge thumbs down to the red caliper covers, people will laugh at those, at least the true car guys. I'd just clean up your original calipers and paint them a black, gray, or silver. This will give a clean look that will flow well w/ your G. If you want to dress up the brakes then maybe pony up for some of these rotors. I had them previously and they worked out well, and will look 10x better than the caliper covers.
Here's a thread on them.

BTW, what offsets are your going w/ on your new Vossens, I'm sure we discussed it a while back but it's all been a blur lately

I believe it's the recommended +32/+45. I let my shop handle everything , since they're ordering and doing the installation. It's like a one stop shop, they do everything from paint, vinyl, headlights, rims/tires, body kit/grills. So hopefully I'm in good hands. Yea, I'll consider painting it. Do u have a pic of that rotor setup ?

Even the suggestion of caliper covers makes me cringe. It's the ultimate poseur mod and I literally LOL when I see them on mustangs (much alone a g37). You really only have two options, paint your ugly calipers black so they don't bring attention to themselves or upgrade to a BBK.

With that said, welcome to to the site and be sure to look around because there a is lot of good info here.

Those are good offsets
Here's some pics of those rotors and my base brakes painted black w/ a small Infiniti logo applied

Welcome to the site. Don't buy those caliper covers. I bought them for one of my first mods and caught 19 kinds of hell for it. They cost $200 and they won't fit perfectly over your calipers anyway. You can make them stick and thru look passable from a distance, but if anyone that knows anything about cars sees them you'll lose ALL your street Fred instantly.

If this hasn't changed your mind...I can probably find my old set and I'll let you have them for uber cheap. But plz don't take me up on that offer bro. Trust me and the rest of the guys.

Lol. U paid $200?!?!? It cost $12 on eBay. I think I'll just paint it then.... Thanks guys. I'll post pics of the wheels next week. I'll be laying low on mods... Even though the r2c intake & FI cb exhaust sounds tempting . Have a trip to NYC next month, no funds to spare. The mod struggle .

Really want to add a tilt/motion sensor to ease my wheel theft paranoid. Wheel lug locks (2 sets for sure) but still want these.
Amazon.com: Install Essentials 507M Tilt Sensor: Electronics Amazon.com: Install Essentials 507M Tilt Sensor: Electronics
Do they work with our alarm system or I need to get a viper or something?

Oh sorry I didn't notice your pic was of the ultra cheap plastic ones from China. There is a company that sells caliper covers made of aluminum that you can customize to say whatever yup like on them. They bolt on rather than glue on. But trust me those eBay ones won't cover the caliper area (I bought those as well lol).
