2011 G37xS Sedan - Future plans

Hey everyone,

I'm new to the forums, from Vancouver BC, and would like to provide my gratitude to everyone that has contributed and helped out everyone else. It's always awesome when you can share your feedback with others; especially with those that are new.

I've owned a black 2011 G37xS Sedan for the last year and am now finally thinking about getting some mods done. I read the newbie post by GoFightNguyen "I have $___, what can I do", and below is what I thought I should start with. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated:

K&N Replacement Filters
HPS Silicone tube intake
Stillen Grounding it
Stainless brake lines (Technafit brake lines)

I have also purchased Swift Springs, but am having some difficulties deciding on what wheels and tire sizes I should go with. I originally was contemplating between staggered 19's or 20's with black wheels, but then I saw a picture of dragion's car with his 18x8 black rims and 20mm spacers. I thought the setup looked very clean and simple, but still looks extremely awesome. Any suggestions? My budget for the wheels and tires isn't that high; about $1500-$2000 CAD max.

Thanks in advance, and again thank you to everyone else that has kept the forum going.

Welcome to the site, glad you found us.
Dragions' black G is a nice look and square 18s on an X is a good plan. You'll have the benefit of taller sidewalls for a softer ride and another bonus is tires are cheaper to keep you in budget.
Might consider a basic Short Ram intake rather than the K&N/Silicone tube combo, might be able to find a used SRI on site for close to the same price as the K&Ns + the tubes if bought new.
Might give a look at Intricate Details G37X build, he's on SSR 18s and they make them in black too, just food for thought

Thanks blnewt...much appreciated.

Those SSR's do look nice; going to be a tough choice.

About the SRI vs K&N filters + tubes; are you saying I wouldn't need to get the K&N filters if i went with SRI? My impression from reading feedback online was that going with K&N filters regardless, was recommended.

About the spacers, my knowledge on spacers are weak to say the least so how do I know what the difference is between something like this:

Amazon.com: 20mm 5x4.5 to 5x4.5 Hubcentric Wheel Spacers Adapters 5x114.3mm M12x1.25 for Nissan Infiniti FX35 FX45 G35 G37 I30 I35 Altima Maxima Murano Sentra: Automotive Amazon.com: 20mm 5x4.5 to 5x4.5 Hubcentric Wheel Spacers Adapters 5x114.3mm M12x1.25 for Nissan Infiniti FX35 FX45 G35 G37 I30 I35 Altima Maxima Murano Sentra: Automotive

vs

H&R, or other branded spacers?

What is it that I should be looking for in spacers?

The SRIs have their own filters such as the R2C, Injen and also the K&N Typhoon SRI.
As far as spacers, I'd look at the name brand hubcentric bolt-on spacers such as H&R, Ichiba, or one of our vendors "B2Autodesigns" has their own house brand spacers that are quality parts. Be sure whatever spacer you get to use only 6ptsockets on the spacer nuts, they're very soft and will round off easily if you use 12pt sockets.

Hey man, welcome to the forum. Was looking around and saw your post. Looks like you've got Brad's help already, and it doesn't get much better than that. If you want to know anything in particular as it relates to my mods, let me know. I've had the pleasure of realizing certain areas where we are limited with the "X" and have had to work around it. Can be a chore at times, but in no way am I having second thoughts about getting it over the RWD. Cheers!

From what I understand, you shouldn't stagger b/c of the AWD. I've seen a few threads here where people buy two sets of coupe S 19s and sell the fronts or rears separately (can't remember which they keep). I am frequently wrong, so don't take my word for it, but definitely verify before dropping the cash.

thanks for the advise. i will probably end up going with the square setup for the wheels/tires when i decide to get them, but i have read numerous posts/threads that if you're within 3% of your stock wheels, it should be fine to go staggered on AWD.

Actually within 1% for AWD (3% for RWD), and there's combos that can get within 0.07% which would be the best route if you don't go square. Issues w/ the AWD system can occur at speeds over 80mph when your variance is over 1%, so as close to zero is .
