Hi all, I am new to MyG37, but am on G35Driver and ChicagoZ. Anyways, I currently live in Chicago and previously owned a 2006 Infiniti G35 coupe, 6mt, ivory pearl ext, stone interior, 33k, fully loaded. It was involved in an accident and was totaled in Feb 2011 =( Anyways, I am looking for a replacement car and the G37 coupe started growing on me finally. I guess I'm looking for input on what year(s) to avoid for a G37 coupe 6mt. Like with the G35 2003-2005 really didn't change much, and used a non-REV UP motor, had different tail lights, and no projector headlights, I guess I am just trying to find the best replacement year. I know that the G35's had an oil consumption issue with certain years, is that the same case with any years of the 37???

This car will be my daily driver, I don't really beat on my cars or plan to do any engine mods. 6mt is a must again lol. Am also considering a 335i coupe as well.

ANY input would greatly be appreciated!

Welcome. The 2011 has a new front sport bumper design that you'll probably love or hate compared to the first design for the G37. I have an '08 and love it.

 

Yea, I kinda like the new 2011 front bumper. I was looking at the 2008 G37's but I recall reading online that there were some issues with the 2008 specifically. I can't recall what exactly but it said something along the lines of that there's always problems with the first year of the redesign. Don't know if there's any truth to that though. I've got 68K on an '08. I replaced the clutch at 60K. Some people have an issue with the leather seats, but mine doesn't look particularly bad, just what I'd consider normal from my big butt sitting in it.

 

The leather seats issues, is that an issue with the leather itself or the motor of the seat. I plan on trying to find a Certified Pre-Owned and getting the extended warranty so I'm not too worried. From what I see, nothing really has changed from 2008-2010. The 2011's are a bit different though right?

Hi chuckie, I can't see myself dropping that much on a car though. My limit is $30K including tax and warrantty.

 

welcome aboard! 2008 g37s...thats what you should go for for your budget.
