Newbie: Rims for my G37

Hey everyone,

im still learning how to use this whole thing i've been reading everyones post since about july of 2009. I got a 2008 g37S in July, and have been looking to make a few improvements. I don't have the thousands of Dollars to drop on a car so please dont mention any add-on's that are going to cost me an arm and a leg. I do realize that i want to get rid of my stock rims, and i'm looking for a rim shop in the L.A./Orange County area (562), or a website online that has a good deal on rims. I want to keep the 19"'s and not go to 20's from what i've heard about speeding on 20"rims on the L.A./O.C. Freeways.....basically so i can still run my car kinda hard, but i'd like to get away from the stock look.....

I realize that with about 300 dollars to spend i'd have to wait for income tax returns :-) , but i was also thinking about putting a cold air intake....now i've read the reviews, but i really want to understand what my car would feel like with an intake system....

if someone has some good ideas with about 500-1000 bucks please let me know.....as for the rims/tires....anything would help...

thanks everyone

***Sorry if i'm posting in the wrong area-i'm sure someone will make that apparent.

With that budget I would go intake or Hi Flow Cats.

I have R2C intake and like them. Good sound and power for the price. Although a few people have reported some small vibration noise from this intake. They crowd favorite seems to be the Stillen 3G though.

Wheels will at least be in the 1500 range. Intake is always an option, or you can save up for wheels.

With a little more than $300 you can lower your car. Springs are like $230-$250 plus install.

Yes! Forgot about that. That's what I'd do with a 300-500 budget. It also improved handling after I lowered mine on Eibachs.

I may have some 20mm spacers for sale soon, if you're would be interested as well. It will make your 18s flush with the fenders.

Do you have a coupe or sedan?

I'd do springs, spacers, and find you a nice set of stock 19's on that budget.

You get what you pay for with aftermarket wheels imo.....so why not just find you a nice set of take offs. There listed on here pretty regularly....

You could even go as far as some overlays for the heads and tails as a cheap mod that will set you apart from others
