i dont think Sony is gonna do too well this gen. 500 bucks and 600 bucks with hd is affordable for working people. kids, teens, sony is totally screwed big time man.

just because it sold out dosnt mean people wants it. it was on extremely short supply. most kids i know does not have a xbox360
its going to be sold out for sure, whether it will be sucessful to build a big enough userbase to maintain its 3rd party support? thats another question. i dont think so right now

 

trust me, sony will be fine.

 

ill be buying one cause i can afford it by Nov and i absolutely have to have Final Fantasy 13 and Metal Gear Solid 4 and Heavenly Sword.

i see little reason to get the 60gb version over the 20gb version though. the increased hd size is mainly aimed for downloadable contents from their version of Itunes. other wise theres absolutely no way you can use even 20 gigs for game saves and whatever thats game related. Now why should I PAY sony to download songs and movies to fill up their 60gb harddrive when its free all over the internet?

60gb hd also makes very little sense for piracy purposes because its just way too small to store reasonable amount of blueray isos. which will be 25gb each. once the system is hacked it will be very easy to hook a usb connected 300gb pc harddrive to it that cost less than $100.

As far as i can tell, the only benefit of a 60gb harddrive is so you can buy music and movies from playstation online.
