I think Nintendo has the right idea. While Sony and MS battle it out for the hardcore teen and adult gamers, they're running free with the kids game market. If anything Sony and MS need to get more into the kids market to catch 'em while they're young.
I'm thinking Sony will end up doing similar to MS in offering more than one h/w package; a cheaper core unit (~$300-$400) and a higher end one with all the whistles (~$700-$800)

president of SCEA ken kutaragi said in an interview that they do not want to release more than 1 packadges ala xbox360. they expect to set a standard price and everyone gets the same thing.
